Michael Trevino, Tyler from The CW's Vampire Diaries, will be making an appearance on BuzzWorthy Radio next week.

On September 24, the show announced that the CW was extending their contract from 13 episodes to 22 for its first season. Hear Trevino speak about his role on the series as well as take calls and questions from fans.

The Vampire Diaries initially received mixed reviews. Entertainment Weekly gave the pilot a B+, stating that the show "signals a welcome return to form for writer-producer Kevin Williamson". They end by saying that "Diaries promises us a season of sharp-tongued amusement." Metacritic gave the show a score of 50 based on 21 critical reviews, indicating mixed to average response. Its premiere on September 10, 2009 gave The CW's its 2nd biggest series premiere scoring 4.8 million viewers for it's final number(2nd to last year's premiere of 90210, which had a final rating of 4.90 million) and a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49.

the hit c_w_ show the vampire diaries you want to get on the conversation tonight the phone ever dialing it six four six five nine five four two two eight i'm going to go to the daily let's get the ball rolling here regarding that the call is on at the switchboard already the let go let loose uh... hopefully ninety-five one here on the line how are you hello yes how are you now i'm good at you i'm good at this to the biggest of honor it is it is it is a walk welcome welcome and i think that you join us absolutely i'm happy to have to be online right now let's do this let's do this indeed all right so let's talk about this wonderful show that is called the vampire diaries taken off a lot of people are loving the show i have been to enjoy the show that again and and the fact that what the entire thing so i'm kind of by it i had a lot of these days yeah you know twilight true blood when angel will go on a little bit angel above the so you know what the empire diaries started and i'd pretty much like that another show i have to check out exactly exactly so let's go for everybody who you play on this show uh... i'd play tyler lockwood and you know how he's he's a jerk he's uh... b_n_ fact that it is a jerk is antagonist he's a bully there's there's no other way to really uh... that define him there's got to be one in every bunch uh... so besides damon he's obviously tyler's turn up the pot with everybody getting on everybody's nerves and people turn uh... pushing people's buttons uh... but there's reasons for this i think you he comes from a family uh... the richest family in mystic falls in our small-town mystic falls his father is the mayor of the town so you know he's had a sense of entitlement you feel like you can get away with anything and that's just the way he lives his life yeah if you if you have a character that comes from that kind of a family you expect a character to be a jerk yet you know i mean we all went to school with maybe that guy you know and obviously there's consequences in the end i mean things do catch up with any can't just get away with anything but uh... that's a that's the tyler's is a big man on campus and he knows it and uh... he wants it absolutely let me ask you this uh... have you read the books you know what uh... when i as soon as i booked the role i bought all the books and i got through uh... well in the new volume just i guess two-volume in each book i got through the first two books so i guess the first four volumes i don't know i guess it can get kind of complicated these came out all the way back in ninety-one uh... i was able to finish the whole series but i got pretty i thought i got pretty far into it i got really deep from what you did see or from what you did read of the book how how close is it in tune with the character you're playing you know what what's awesome i think and there's more creative freedom is we're not thinking exactly to the books as far as timeline goes uh... current events from that i think yeah i mean we have characters in in our series that didn't even exist in the books uh... but it's a beautiful outline that l_j_ smith wrote uh... in ninety-one and we're kind of picking uh... certain events from all the book and and obviously not going in order but certain events that happen in the books are on the show and a very very similar and then there's other things that are totally switched uh... characters that we haven't brought out yet that were in the books right in the beginning that might come later on in the show uh... so it's you get the you know we don't have to follow exactly what's going on we can be more free with it yeah i think that now i found this out a few days ago and actually another show on here is it is a good friend i think that actually have her own tonight following the show uh... we found out that jasmine got his joining the joining the cast the show she is she is and at her uh... maybe a week or so ago she's so lovely uh... we're happy to have her on she's excited to she's excited to i mean it's it's it's a type of show we you know when people coming on it's like what what's going on the storyline and you just everybody has a certain subplots and and smaller story lines you want to figure out what is that working who's in relation to who here and she's going to be playing uh... bony's uh... grandmother uh... yeah yeah grandmother who's you know mr falls is is a small town but has this and he's a mythological uh... been going around you know there's like some weird stuff that is century centuries over you have this new generation of of kids all of us were kind of wondering what are the vampires around or what it's going on there people people are missing but then you have all of our parents you know who kind of know what's going on or being kind of secretive and maybe want to keep certain things under wraps and then grants gram is one of those that jasmine gosh he's playing one of those roles that knows exactly what's going on so you have you actually had the pleasure of working with her i mean i'm not in that i know i mean she's she's an amazing the amazing person super talented i mean across the board uh... acting singing uh... directing everything i i have not been able to work with her not on screen but uh... just the pleasure of having to get a conversation with her on set enough for me well so how did it how did you get into the whole acting thing is something you wanted to do like ever since you know it it's a little now that i think about it uh... you know it's so hard to break into this business uh... i didn't take any drama classes in high school i would have been a drama club it's just uh... finish high school after that you know i was i was doing my when you're the junior college and i think you know i want to give it a shot i think think i have what it takes and it's something that if i'm going to try and i'm going to give it a hundred per hundred ten percent uh... went after it and met the right people and it got really lucky but uh... same time as lucky as i was prepared and uh... it just it's weird it just happened so quick i mean i've been acting for about pride going on five years now uh... but it's been a whirlwind i'm just right in the way that i'm just having fun right now now you're just you just keep on going and pretty much all you can do right now it's yeah it's it's crazy i mean i didn't you know i didn't know anybody in the business no no family members or anything like that uh... i just went for it and you know i think i got pretty lucky but i you know i spent my ass off and everything so it's it goes with any you just gotta be prepared and i was so you know before before that you were on you're on another c_w_ show nine two and i'll have a copy i yeah i did a few episodes on on nine two and i'll get all of that like uh... you know at the time i'm not gonna i i was i was excited you know it was like the revamp nine or two and i'm coming back it was show had huge buzz and uh... you know to be able to get a reoccurring uh... on that on that show i mean if i got a lot of uh... a lot of attention from it you know and they're back for a second season that that cat is great all those all those guys are are really good friend and uh... i was happy to be a part of it so the filming of the show actually take place in georgia right we are in uh... beautiful city of atlanta georgia it's great out here it's great out here we shot the pilot in uh... vancouver and and you're right and it was either going to be uh... vancouver or atlanta where we were going to film the show because it takes place in the show takes place in virginia so obviously we can film this in los angeles you know we need we need force we need wood and uh... so uh... it ended up being atlanta we've been here we the whole cast we all relocated up here in georgia's been great i mean the people of the state and just been so welcoming everybody's really nice out here and it's it's different it's a good change it's good how's the how's that and respond to the show's and it's only been it's you know not even not many episodes in it's like a huge and response already as i stated in the beginning from what you were able to offer how how are fans responding to it how do you think i think i think they're happy you know it's you it's weird because you have those fans of the book that are diehard fans of the book that wants to be exactly like that so they have certain questions and uh... they bring a certain topics as far as where's this character who's this person to do and then you have the other side of the spectrum you have uh... people who haven't read the book no there's a series but they're watching the show and um... and and everything's been great it's been good where we're three episodes in episodes get better and better the script some i'm telling you every every week we get a new script and a push in the envelope i'm i'm really like that i think kevin kevin williamson and julie plex are executive producers i'm wondering like you guys are going to run out of ideas you could have been a little burned out of the episode of the episode i'm like whoa you really gonna you really gonna do this right now i figured this is going to be episode eighteen you know and bring it up and it's moving along fast and it's it's good it's good but i'm amazed every time i'm like oh god they think with this route so it there's nothing uh... going to be any slower boring at the so they'll tell you that much all right let's go with let's go with that let's that way to get what can you give away of if what's coming out of it anything coming up with your character or anything else on the show like what well well you know with with tyler these first three episodes uh... i wouldn't be surprised if people aren't are disliking him you know i don't see how you can like how he's just but that's what he's there for you know he's there to come on screen and take things up and just get on your nerves but this episode that there's a third day uh... you meet tyler's parents and i think that's huge because you get to see just what his family's about and where he's coming from and it kinda shows won't tell you he's not you know a bully to just be a bully and he comes from a family where he's not treated so so well or his his family comes from maybe a dysfunctional family so when you meet his mom and his dad especially my mother you see that maybe the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree uh... and and also it shows it starts on the adults everybody's parents everybody's family it shows that older generation of people that also grew up in mystic falls uh... like the rest of our characters and it shows that they know something else is up something else is going on in and in the mister father they want to keep everybody else safe what they know they don't say we're kind of we're kind of wondering and and and guessing but there's a big secret going around and they kinda want to keep things a secret i got to know it's kind of like it's kind of like his way of like last night of the way he's treated in his own household almost yeah almost it's it's it's that but it's uh... it's uh... that it's true hmm i guess that every show that i have that guy and you're that guy but it might vindicate him a little bit shows like okay maybe he does have a softer side maybe the way you think it you know we want to show that you know what that though you don't want him to go like a little to stop you want him to have no no definitely not that definitely not but show that you know he's human he has a heart down there somewhere it's it's inside as far than in his relation to to vicki you know to be put on this front with the people like what's whatever she's just there but then when it's just him and vicki alone he shows that he actually does like her so little little little things like that i can't give away too much i mean this is a fourth episode that's going to air on Thursday work work for him in the eighth episode i mean i can't even tell you uh... what's going to happen i mean i gave you nothing right now but well when you know that's true when he's when he's when he i can't say there's a huge event that's going to happen and people are going to be like whoa did that really this is going to happen i can't even explain it it's it's going to be it's going to be big it's going to be talked about for a while alright you got it you heard it you have to wait now i'm saying i'm saying you know i can't get anything from it you can't get nothing from it i mean mister mister tanner you just he just got hit mister tanner just got hit somebody else might get theirs and and it's going to shake the town and song in fact we'll go with that we'll go with that this is this is interesting to you you living los angeles right are you able to juggle going back and forth from georgia to l_a_ i mean granted you are twenty four years old so you know you can't do it but it's just like it's just like how are you able to do that it's it's it's actually part of it it is but i mean i'm out here now i've relocated i have might might i've changed everything i got my georgia license now uh... so i'm for the most part the majority i'm out here uh... obviously i i go back to and from for whatever meetings and and and stuff i need to take care of l_a_ but me personally i've never lived away from home i'm born and raised los angeles california all my family's there i've obviously worked uh... around the u_s_ even in canada for months at a time but to have to actually move and relocate it's been different it's been fun it's been an adventure but uh... it's the reason why i have to move is for work then i'm moving in a heartbeat you know uh... it's been great though it's been it's been fun and i'm managing i'm making making georgia home as much as possible as we got it he got a move to where the work is so exactly as they got into the next year when you booked when you booked this role i know when you had mentioned it that you did read the book when you booked this world where you a fan of like all the the vampire stuff that's been going on like all this why i like the droop bloods and all that you know i i went to theater and i saw twilight in the theaters uh... uh... buddy mine jim parakees on true blood so i was i was getting into true blood i still need to catch up on missing a lot of episodes uh... from the second season uh... i can remember uh... angel buffie the vampire player like you know twenty-four years old i remember that old generation uh... of vampire would have a genre television programs so to seek out of history repeat itself you have all these young uh... you know these young teens this is their angel this is their both of the vampire also they can attach themselves to this whereas we attached ourselves back then years ago so it's it's great it's it's it's different it's not the same uh... we're a lot different from twilight more a lot different from true blood uh... you're going to get to see that is episode to go on some people saying that we're coughing but we're really we're really not i mean vampire diaries but cannot ninety-one twilight came out but at least you ten years later so uh... there's different similarities we got what with some people want so they can you have you have your three shows you know you want to go to the movies you go to your twilight people can relate more to true blood are getting the bad and then some have the vampire diaries it's been great there's enough for everybody there's enough difference too to the like your would you like to get it to be uh... vampire uh... uh... would i like to turn to the empire uh... no no i don't think uh... no all right play i heard Tyler Tyler it has such an attitude that you know he's like no i don't i'm not gonna i think he would actually want to go after the vampires to be honest with you you want to go faster uh... yeah i think he would want to get you to be against the vampires i don't think he'd want to be a vampire at all yeah that is interesting i know that it is not a good picture that he's a tough guy he doesn't now he's it now you're making me right but now i'm thinking about it i don't like her he's a tough guy and that's a very hard you know and i'm telling you i disagree Tyler would not want to be a vampire i'm gonna leave it at that let that marinate for a bit i don't think you know i don't think i don't think you like vampires too much uh... uh... yeah fans of the book right now that was natural let me a natural tough guy then a vampire tough guy basically exactly yeah i think i think people that have read the book that are listening right now kind of know what i'm talking about because i'm on the phone with you right now but i'm actually winking when i say i don't i don't think i can't be that i think i don't think i don't i don't think he likes vampires too much no kind of sector even better i'll say the lockwood family doesn't like vampires too much okay i got to tell you're kind of like you think i'm like wait i'm on my way to the phone when you say that he's trying to he's trying to tell me something but what's he saying what is he saying what is he trying to tell you what is saying it's okay just you'll see i think it's going to be fine probably good just like slowly listen to him exactly what he's saying yeah yeah yeah now you've now you've now you've seen him wink when he's saying that that one further the day hard uh... fans of the book and fans of the show now though don't you just a little something just a little something i don't think it's been the most fun to work with on that that uh... can you say i know you want to be a great all-man i mean we're so we're all goofballs i have a great time with with everybody i mean most of my scenes are uh... with cayley cayley will play the picky so in a crack and jokes left and right and then uh... and vac who plays matt where best friends on the uh... on the show so i think those two i work with the most i have to say we we have the best time but everybody's a riot we all when we're not working and we can all have some free time to just hang out uh... and the first opportunity we do we do well that we're very close cast but uh... but most of my things with cayla and and and that can uh... that those two are great now everybody everybody is asking everybody always wants to know you have the whole twitter thing you have the whole faithful thing like is there any way that they can follow you what i uh... twitter definitely have a uh... a twitter account i need it i need to throw up a picture of their on the right now i got a different kind of little avatar on their but i need to switch it up and it's uh... and what is that anyway i mean i i i i mean it and i'm like well what is what gory oh do you know always so you've seen my avatar you know what i'm talking about it that's uh... uh... that's he's ledger as the joker is that what it is it is it is so cool that that was that yeah that's exactly what it is yeah it's uh... i mean i just a huge huge ledger fan but i didn't have any picture that i could throw up there when i was sent up the account and i said you know what i'm feeling a little badass right now just gonna throw this he's ledger up there because it's here you looking i need to switch it up though i'd definitely do you didn't you didn't see that man the dark night i i i'm sorry to say but i have not seen that movie really you should check it out actually pretty it's a pretty damn good movie i would check it out i think you know check it out i'm not that movie the twitter uh... it's i will twitter at you when i see that movie have that quick there you go and then give me a little review on it let me know what you think in a hundred and forty your favorite thing at all the many things you find great about what's the one thing that really pulls you in every week because it's about vampires all the drama in it right mhm like cuz i'd love drama oh yeah absolutely yeah no i guess that's what me have watched it every week and i've read the whole series oh did you really read all the books yeah good good for you that's great that's really
