BuzzWorthy Radio: Ryan Cafeo!

Luke 11:17 is a wildly popular dark and gritty new web series following the exploits of famous motivational speaker Luke Vincent who has a very dark side. In the vein of Showtime's Dexter with a dash of the Saw franchise thrown in, Luke 11:17 chronicles the adventures of “professional Luke” with book signings, high-energy seminars, interaction with his business manager and fending off advances by adoring female fans – along with “dark Luke” and his addictions to drugs, sex and power along with violence and murder. Season one plays out over 8 fast paced 8-10 minute episodes.

Ryan Cafeo plays Luke with a terrifying realism, taking the viewers on a journey they won't soon forget. Cafeo is also the co-creator of the show which was recently nominated for a prestigious 2009 “Webby” award, as well as being an official honoree as Best Drama Series of the Year. I would love for you to consider a feature on the series or profile of Ryan, a true "One to watch" and rising Hollywood star.

And welcome to a new edition of BWR with your host, Navell Jaylee, joining me right now on the line, is Mr. Ryan Caffeyo. How are you doing there, sir? Oh man, I'm a little out of breath because I was just wrestling with my nephew, so yeah, he took me. He took me to cradle, man. Yeah, how you doing? I'm doing good, man. I hope that intro didn't scare the crap out of you. You know, my voiceover guy, Jeff Strahl, who did that is a freaking wild man, so. I didn't even hear it, man. I'm disappointed I missed it. See? How about that? There you go. You were so knocked out of breath. You couldn't even hear my intro music. That's good. I know, man, it's sad, right? Whoa. I don't know. So what's going on, man? Talk to me. What is going on? All right, if you write about Luke 11 17. Yeah, describe this. Describe this whole gory show here that I finally got to take a look at. And I actually talked to one of your co-stars last night, Crichelle Stouse, who was in this. Oh, Crichelle, yeah, man. She's great in the series. Yeah. And she had a lot of good stuff to say about you, too. She was, like, head over you. Oh, don't buy any of that, dude. It's all bullshit. Isn't it? Oh, man. Come on. It's all bullshit. Don't buy that stuff. Seriously. Oh, now I have to edit that out. Now I have to go back into the show for my friends. Like, oh, this is all live. This is now have to be taken out. Oh, man. Life's not easy all the time. Have you watched all eight episodes? I have not watched all eight of them yet. I should have been all done by. Check out. Well, I checked out a lot of that the first two so far. Oh, man. I can't do this interview until you watch all eight men on a serious news. Oh, wait a minute. Talk about it. No, wait a minute. What's wrong with you? You only watched two episodes. I'm really disappointed. Why'd they set this interview up? I'm teasing, man. So I'll break it down for you to show. I play this motivational speaker, Luke Simpson, right? And he's reached a celebrity status. And he's preaching to people about, you know, quieting their demons. But in all actuality, he has his own demons that he's trying to overcome behind closed doors. So he's, you know, he's very much a sociopathic hypocrite, I would say. That's all I got for you, man. Hello? My voice was like away from the microphone. Sorry about that. I was like, I spoke into it and I heard nothing. I was like, what the fuck? Wait a minute. Did I just cussle my own show? Yes, I did. But sociopathic hypocrite. So that's free. That's pretty tight right there. How did this role come about for you? I think I lost you. 323, you're on the air right now. Hello. Hello? Yes. Before you come on, you're on with us. And I'm good. How are you? Good. Who's speaking? Rebecca. Rebecca. Nice to meet you. What part of California are you from? Los Angeles. Los Angeles. I had a question for Ryan. Okay. Is he there? Hello? Ryan, are you still there? I heard him, but he's not. And he's still on the line. I wonder what happened to him. Ryan, are you there? Hello? I'll get him back on the line. Hold on one second. Oh, all right. He said he'll be right back. So we'll keep you here until we get back. He put me on hold? No, no, no, no. Ryan is, um, Ryan's left hold. He'll be right back. So you're not on hold. I'm not on hold. You're not on hold. All right. When he, when he gets back, before he gets back, let's, let's, let's talk about Luke 1117. What do you think about this show? Well, you have to say about this. I love it. I just think it's so well done. Yeah. It's amazing. It's like watching like real TV. Really? It's just as good as anything else. I think we have it back. Yes. Yes. Are we back? Hello? Hello? Yes. Is everybody here? Everybody is here. And we have a, okay. Cool. Yes. And, and a caller actually wants to speak your praises. Ryan? Yeah. I just think you're so amazing. This show is brilliant. What inspired you to come up with it? Who is this? Rebecca. Hey, Rebecca. How are you? I'm well. Thank you. Much better now that I'm talking to you. Where you calling from? Los Angeles. Los Angeles. Cool. Okay. So what was your question? What inspired you to come up with Luke? And who is your favorite of all the women that were ever on the show? Um, Chris, I would say, and what inspired me? Um, that's a good question. You know, the writers strike on a serious note. The writers strike hit and Chris Sherman and I decided to, you know, we wanted to create a character that wasn't what he had started to be. And doing so, we realized that, uh, it was Luke 11, 17. So I would have to say the writers strike. Yeah. So there weren't any writers that you decided to be one yourself. That's pretty awesome. Well, thank you. I'll take that compliment. Chris Sherman, you speak of. Chris Sherman is the co-creator and the executive producer. Oh, yeah. Is he in the show? He actually, uh, yeah, he, he makes a cameo, but you, you're going to have to look closely. And you know, he likes to lay low and, you know, well, you give me a hint about how to find it. The silent, uh, the silent type, what's that? Is he as hot as you? Well, you know, why don't you look them up and, you know, figure that out for yourself? Well, I'll have to do that. Which episode is the end? Let me see. Hold on. I got to think here. I think it's episode, uh, at the car wash. Okay. I'm going to go watch right now. All right. Cool. Now you will. Thanks a lot. Thanks for talking to me. Thanks for talking to me. All right. I'll talk to you sometime again. Maybe not. Maybe. All right. That's so cool. Excuse me. At the cost there. Is Chris Shell actually going to be coming back into the end of the next season, so to speak? We wanted to know that. Is Chris Shell going? I'm sorry. Is Chris Shell going to be coming back for more episodes of Luke 11, 17? Oh, absolutely, man. Yes. She did. Yeah. Yeah. She's going to come back and if you've noticed, you know, she's the only one that, uh, you know, made it through the first season. Right. Exactly. And you definitely want to-- Of course Luke did too, so, you know. Well, if he didn't, then I don't think we would have a show called a Luke 11, 17 anymore. Well, you know. Recasting. It's Hollywood. What can I tell you? That's true, too. That is true. And you definitely want to see this on cable? I would love to see this on cable. Probably something that you like. No, it's just going to happen, man. Everybody's going to see it on cable and we're going to have a great time and, you know, it's going to get, you know, I just checked out True Blood and watched the first season. Have you watched True Blood? I have watched True Blood. What do you think? It's no buffie, but I'll take it. I'll say it. Are you an Allen Ball fan like Six Feet Under? Yes, man. Yeah, man. Love that. You know, I was a huge Six Feet Under fan and, you know, I didn't check out True Blood the first season, but I recently checked it out and I'm digging it. And I think that Luke, you know, it's all them to that category. Yeah, it really does, you know. Yeah. Yeah. So, the second season is, you know, it's going to unravel more and it's going to be crazier, sexier. The budget's going to be huge, man. You know, I'm going to pull some Marlon Brandos and throw my hat in the water and have to wait for, you know, a week to start shooting again. So, I'm really excited about the second season, man, and it's causing a lot of problems. Who would you in the second season? Who would you want to work out of, I mean, besides Creshall and everything, who would you like to work out of in this period if you can take a Jew somebody? As far as females or what? As far as females go. Okay. Let me see. Put me on the spot. Let's just go ahead and say, you know, Megan Fox, Jessica Alba. Yeah, man. You know, definitely want Creshall to come back. Love her work, love her on the show. Love her as a person. She's great. Let me see who else. You know, I'd actually like to have Gary Oldman, though. I'd like Gary Oldman to maybe play Luke's father. I think that would be interesting. So, Gary, if you're listening, give me a call over rooster. That'd be great. Let me see. Who else can I think of? Yeah, that's all I have right now. Oh, Pacino. Pacino De Niro, that'd be great, too. I think that's a stretch. That's a bit of a stretch for the second season, maybe the fourth. I could see you acting opposite one of those two. I mean, you have that look, they could be like one of those two could be like your dad in the show. I'm sorry. The signal is weak. Could you repeat that, man? I said that I could see you acting opposite one of those two, one of those two actors. You have that presence where you could totally hold your own with those two. Thanks, man. I really appreciate that. Thank you very much. You do. You do. It could be like Pacino or De Niro can play your dad in that series, and you can hold your own in those scenes with either one of those. I think you have the top score. It's no joke when they say that you are the ones who watch as the rising Hollywood star that they're proclaiming you as right now, because I think that holds true for this whole entire thing. You're going to be a breakout hit, man, if you aren't already. Thank you very much. I really appreciate that on a serious note. It's nice. You work hard, and it's nice to get the validation. Especially, like you said, that this was coming off of the writer's strike, it basically was like your main deal as to when you started this whole thing, especially with nothing being on TV. You got something that's interesting, gory. Gory, interesting. I like that kind of stuff, but it's kind of like the ring meets, like you said, true blood kind of thing. Yeah, you know, it's original. I mean, we didn't steal anything from anybody. I have to just give a shout out to everybody at Rooster, because everybody really stepped up with this series. Mike Casey and Charles Huttinger, Jeremy Weiss, Ron Carter, Chris Sherman, all the girls. Everybody at Rooster made this show a success, so I'd like to thank everybody and give everybody a big Rooster crow. Will you give me a crow, man? Bro, I don't even know how a crow sounds. I'll just say crow. That's all I'll go. I love everybody at Rooster, but I'll let it slide. That's cool. You let it slide? Thank you very much. Yeah, yeah. Absolutely. I'll work on it better. I thank my sister here for letting me crash in her hotel. We went to the zoo today, San Diego Zoo, and I was swimming with the polar bears. That didn't work out too well, so I had to get out quickly. That's probably why your nephew overtook you in that house. That's probably what that was. You were so out of it. That's why he overtook you. Yeah, but we weren't on the air then, right? Don't say that, man. No, he was pretty pitiful. I was on the floor out of breath, and he's only five. And you are how old and how big and muscular are you? No, no, I'm not going on air at all. I'm six-seven, although I might not appear to be six-seven on the show. You know, about two forty on a good day, bad day two sixty. And if I eat a lot of soy sauce, look out. Okay, I got you. There he is in the background. So, but yeah, man, thanks for checking out the show and you're interested in the show. We're just really excited. I mean, when we started creating this, we never imagined it. We would end up where we are, so it's a very pleasant surprise. It's nice when things like this happen in life, the vicissitudes of life, you know? Yeah, you never expected to have such a following that you have for like right now. And that's great. That's a huge compliment for anybody, you know, when they just start off with anything. So that's amazing. And let's pimp it out. Where can they find Luke 1117 online? Where can they take a look at this? Okay, so we're on strike.tv. We're also up on Hulu. Joust, you can go to roosterfilms.com. Let me think. I think that's it right now. Yeah. Right now, ladies. They're all interconnected. You know what I mean? So if you go to one, you'll find us. We're out there, man. We're growing on a daily basis. That's exactly, you know, like bamboo. Did you know that bamboo grows an inch a day? No, I just know that. Yeah, man. An inch a day. Yeah. So you're basically like the bamboo that's growing an inch every day. Well, I never thought of it that way. I like that analogy. Thanks, man. Yeah. And you know what, if they want to throw in an extra couple inches every day, man, I'm good, you know? Exactly. Yeah. Couple of inches, couple of green in the wallet. I'm all for that, too. Yeah, man. You know, and maybe Scorsese, maybe he'll give me a call. That'd be nice. You're dreaming big, right? Now you're really even high. You're really even high on that tree. That's good. I like that. Oh, well, yeah, man. Even if it's, you know, whenever it is, you've got aim high. Aim high, Air Force. No, I'm kidding. Yeah. So tell me about you guys in your show and could you usually have on and, you know, all right, wow, I haven't really been at this in over a year and a half. All right, man. So go ahead. You're like the first one that's like asking me this like full cut throw about the whole thing. That's great. Basically, I do all types of people, internet, breakout stars, musicians, TV celebrities stop by the show every once in a blue moon. We just had on Kevin Rudolph on the show. He stopped by for a visit and we aired his single walk through the world at the time. So we got to tell him, of course, we got to talk to Crichelle on the show yesterday. She stopped by the show and gave this big huge feel about you being like this great guy that girls need to start watching out for. You know, I'm about five or how much they paid her to say that. She went off for about five minutes about that. She did. She probably got a couple grand easy. Good for you, Crichelle. I was up there. If I did, I could broke, but I definitely didn't pay her to say that, but she definitely did have had one of those things to say about you when Luke 11, 17, she just, she was very pleasant. So it's like ranging from soap stars from daytime to daytime talk show people to some primetime people that are making it, internet stars that are making it, everybody that's just coming out of the woodwork. So it's like up in common stars are coming onto this show. That's basically, that's basically the people that we have on this program. I can definitely say that. All right, man. Congratulations on the program. Yeah, we're hitting two years in November of this year, so. All right. I believe it's been two years. God. Hey man, the time flies when you're having fun, you know, when you're doing your thing, you're blinking, you know, your goes by. Exactly. That's what I said. It's just like, you're about to be your second season of your show, and I'm pretty sure you didn't think it's going to be like that. It looks like a drop at the top of fingers. You're going to be, oh my God, this is their second season. I know, man. It's crazy, you know, and so you got to listen to Luke and live in the moment. Live in the moment, you know. That's exactly what we're doing right now. Yep. Got to live in the present, man. Don't get ahead of yourself because that's no fun. You're not really living then. You're thinking, you're thinking all the time. You're thinking too hard about what you're going to do in the future, and then that's just going to wear and tear you down. That's pretty much it. Absolutely, man. It's going to be sitting there going like, what the hell have I done with my whole entire life? That's pretty much the whole premise of that. Yep. Exactly. But, you know, a lot of great stuff's going on. I'm starting a movie in a few weeks outside of rooster, and I just finished shooting this comedy with Fred Willard. That was cool, and Fred Stoller. So, just enjoying, you know, enjoying the moment, man, and the second season is going to be crazy, and I'm really excited about, you know, the cast for the second season. We're definitely going to be able to get, oh, okay. My phone's beating, but yeah, the second season is going to be off the hook, so watch for us. I think we're going to end up on cable somewhere, and yeah, man. Don't just watch out for Luke Levinson. Watch out for Ryan to say. That's who you really got to watch out for. He will be making it. He will be getting out there. He's going to be in the big screen on cable, all of it, and he was here. You can say that he was on this show, on buzzworthy. That'll be it. I had to put my own little thing in there. Spin. Nice, man. Absolutely. Rock 'n' roll. Rock 'n' roll, man, and, you know, hopefully, let's talk and get on a few months or something and touch base and see what's going on. I would love to do that, and before we sign off here, I would love if you want to do a promo for us. Do a promo for you. Sure, man. I'll do a promo for you. All right. You can even put your own spin on it and say, "This is Ryan Caffeo from Luke 11-17. I'm where it's at right now, but you need to be listening to Buzzworthy Radio because this is where it's happening right here on your computer. All right, let's do it. Go ahead. Let's do another one. All right, let's do another one. You ready? I'm ready. Okay. Hey, how you doing? This is Ryan Caffeo from Luke 11-17, and you need to check out Buzzworthy because if you're not checking out Buzzworthy, you're underground, man. I like that. It makes you think of the six feet under kind of reference. I like that. Yeah, let's leave that. I like that. It's kind of outside the box. It is outside the box. I like that a lot. So we definitely, let's definitely keep you on lock coming back here in like a couple of months to show. Fund out what's going on. Love to have you back on here again. Thanks, man, and I'd love to be back. So, sounds good and we'll put space in a few months, man. I will be actually in LA in a few months. It's actually the end of August. So cool.
