Check out my single Let It Rock and check out my album in the city and stores now. Hi, welcome to a new edition of Buzzworthy Radio on your host, Novell Jaylee. It is Monday, May 4, 2009. We're coming at you live on this broadcast here and going to be joined by the lovely and talented Kelly Menigan-Hensley who plays the role of the delicious cougar. I said the word cougar about Emily Stewart. I love it. I'm sorry. There's no other word to describe her, but cougar. And that's hot. That's great. Love it. Thanks so much for coming on the show. Oh, thank you for having me. It's my pleasure. So how does this feel whenever someone actually describes the character of Emily as a cougar? What's your reaction when you hear that? I actually sort of have a tough time with it because I think of a cougar in her good 50s, like good solid 50s with like a really good 25 year old, maybe early 20s. So I felt a little like maybe I'm tipping the scale a little bit, or maybe just that's what gives me peace at night, I don't know. But it's fun. I mean, I'm certainly not complaining. I find absolutely nothing wrong with coming to work and working with a cute 23 year old boy who I could be, you know, his mother, you know, it ain't bad. There are worse ways to make a living, you know? This is true. So how would you, at this point, how, beside the fact that we already established that she is a cougar, how else would you describe the character of Emily right now? At this moment, she's pretty, she's pretty grounded. I think Emily is more grounded than she usually is. She's usually a little cuckoo bird, she's a type of person who really kind of ventures through life without really thinking. She just sort of reacts as she goes through life, doesn't think of the consequences until she gets there. And then of course, regrets and has remorse and all those things, but it's a little too light. But she, you know, manages to land on her feet every time and gets through with his smile on her face and things tend to work out for her. It's sort of a tough, it's sort of a long way getting there. Exactly. Exactly. You've been playing this role since 1992, it was like a seven year old boy watching you on the show. Yeah. Yeah. Long time. I never watched it growing up, so it was a complete, this was a new, new, new adventure for me. I grew up watching other soap operas, so yeah, this is all I've done. So I started doing it and thought I would try those things and just sort of fell in love with different parts of the job and then fell in love with the guy who I worked with. And then we both just decided to stay and raise a family here. Yeah, it's been awesome. I think I'm wrong with this and I might be thinking of something else. But I heard that your relationship with John would kept a secret on when you guys started getting there. Yeah. When we first started dating, he had left the show because I never would have dated anybody that I was working with. It was just sort of my, I don't know, I just didn't think it was smart. And I never, I always promised myself I wouldn't date actors or models. I always liked the boring financial kind of guys and then realized that that was no fun. Oh boy. He left the show and called me out of the blue out in LA and we sort of, you know, conspired with Martha Byrne, one of our dear friends. And she, you know, spoke in his ear and spoke into my ear and I looked him up when I was out visiting one day out in LA. I was visiting my sister and I knocked on his door down at the beach and bought him dinner that night. And because I was working, he wasn't at the time so I felt like, I'll buy you dinner. And he said I was the first person that ever bought him dinner and yeah, which was big. And then he was supposed to go golfing with his buddies on a trip the next day and canceled his trip to hang out with me for the weekend, which in retrospect I learned very quickly that was huge because at the time he was a huge, huge golfer. And yeah, I actually booked the church that weekend. I didn't tell him, but I did, I penciled in my name at the church where I grew up. Oh my, I'm sure he, he just loved that. Yeah, I didn't tell him that until we were actually on our wedding day, I told him that. Oh, nice, I like that. Yeah. There you have the rest of history, really. Yeah, because you know, yeah, he couldn't have known that it, that would have scared him off the poor guy. He, he, that was, I think that would have scared anybody off. I don't even believe I did it, but when you know, you know, exactly, I just find, I also find it funny that it's just funny that your character Emily, even though it was play by different actors before, was involved with Holden and then all of a sudden here you are playing the role Emily now, your marriage is a guy who plays well, and I just always thought that was like the, the strangest coup ever. Yeah. I really. And it's sort of fortunate that we didn't because as it turns out after years and years of being on the show and knowing each other, we're not fond of actually working together when we're, when we're here. So it's nice that all that didn't happen while we were together because we probably wouldn't have ended up together. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. And your 17 years of being on the show, what has been your favorite story to play if you can. Oh, God. That's tough. You know what? I, I have a hard time picking one. I just, I think I just have my, I think it's my favorite character. It's just, it's such an incredible trip to take every day. You just, I never know what, what they're going to have me do. And she just does everything from, you know, jumping off a cliff, trying to take her own life one day to, you know, shooting the guy she's madly in love with and pushing him off a cliff to chaining a guy that she's at one point passionately in love with to a radiator, holding a gun to his head to, you know, pouring coffee for her older cop husband and, you know, doing his laundry. So I don't, I love that I get to do it all and just, it never gets dull. I think that's how 17 years has gone by so quickly. Yeah. It's, it's, it's just amazing and you were nominated for an Emmy for supporting actress for that stuff. And that, that, that had to been a huge thing for you. Yeah. It was fun. Yeah. It was fun. It's always fun when you get nominated. It's, it's, it's a great, it's a great thing and I have always been a, you know, very involved in the whole nomination process and voting and all that kind of stuff. And I did it this year. I voted on the lead actress was my category and honest to God, when you sit there and you watch, you know, your colleagues and you see what they submit and it's, I walked away so proud. I was so proud of everybody. Just incredible work. Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Have fun. Now you actually have something I was actually influenced about this is recently you're actually organizing a fundraiser for the St. Jude's. I am. I am. I am. Yeah. I've, you know what? I've worked on this event with Martha Byrne for over 15 years. She started a long time ago and it was a huge soap event in the city down at the Marriott Marquis and she asked me, you know, many years ago to go on her little board for fundraising and so I was the one who would pick up the phone to all the different corporations and companies and ask them to donate things. And so she called upon us this year to hosted an event in Bergen County where I'm where I I'm not from, but I live now up in New Jersey. And they've never had a St. Jude event on this scale up where we are now. So we got all of our girlfriends together that are all, you know, stay at home moms that all come from some kind of business background and they were looking to do something and we have put on this incredible event May 29th at a place in Rivervale, New Jersey called the estate of Florida and Teen Gardens. And it's pretty incredible. We've got, you know, it's dinner, dancing, live auction, silent auction. I've got, you know, a private meet and greet. You can win with Derek Jeter. I've got, you know, you can win an evening and with three different chefs. You're a little come to your home and cook for 16 of your friends and post a dinner at your home and diamond jewelry and I really incredible, incredible stuff, incredible gift bags. And I'm so proud of it. And it's coming together. You know, the next couple of weeks are like the crunch time where everything's arriving at my house because for some reason I offered to store everything. So my dad in rooms like, I don't even know what my- It's flooded with stuff now. You can't- It's flooded. My kids are tortured because there's razors, scooters and iPhones and eye touch and all the stuff that just is teasing them to, you know, no end. But- They want to grab it and just like start playing with it, don't they? Yeah. They want to take it, are you kidding? But I've got them involved. They have lemonade stands on the weekend and they raise, they actually raised two weekends ago. They raised, I swear, $369.29 selling lemonade. And then it's all going to St. Jude. So I'm very proud of all of our kids involved in that. All, every little bit of house, especially- Oh my god. Yeah. Are you kidding me? I'm trying to have St. Jude do a lemonade stand day in the summer where it's like a national day that kids sell lemonade and all the money goes to St. Jude, which I thought would- That would be really good. Yeah. So that's what I do with my free time. When I'm not working and hanging out with my three children and my husband, that's what I do. Yeah. Yeah. We did something. We did that for St. Jude. We actually did a barbecue and all money, all proceeds went to St. Jude, is what we did for our job here. Oh, that's great. So it was a pretty- It was a wonderful thing and my job stopped doing that. I'm trying to get them to do it again because it was a huge deal for us and it was a huge deal for everybody else. Everybody came out. Oh my god. You walk away feeling like we did an event actually on Sunday at a salon in Ridgewood called Panico and it's this incredible place where they cut hair, they do nails, they do massages, they do everything and they're very philanthropic people and we were really going for the big bucks. But unfortunately, it rained, which wasn't the greatest thing, but we raised over $3,500, which is certainly better than a stick in the eye, but all the stylists showed up cutting hair for nothing, you'd make a $40 donation and you got a great haircut and they were donating their tips. I mean, it was just, it was incredible. A great way to spend the day. Absolutely. That's amazing. It's just, every time I hear something about that, it's just amazing for people to come out and show their support and just give, especially right now with how the economy's going. You know, even with that, that's like a huge thing for me. Yeah. You know what it is? It just makes you feel better. It's sort of a selfish thing you do because you're doing, I don't do it because I feel good about it. I do it because I know it's helping, it's actually helping these people. The money, 99, whatever the percentages, percent of the money that you raise goes directly to the hospital and it costs well over a million dollars a day to keep that hospital open so they don't turn a child away. So it's just, I walk away, like it's, honestly, it's like a crack addict when somebody sends me something or I get a check in the mail from a company that's supporting this event. Oh my God. It's, you know, I want to share from the rooftops. It's pretty cool. Yeah, absolutely. You mentioned, we also, you mentioned that you're working with us with Martha Byrne who obviously since you have been, you've been staying in touch with her since you left the show. So one of the things that, you know, really, really, I would like to know is that when you heard that she was off the show, how did you react to that or was it like something that was like a huge shock to you when you heard about it? You know, I'm very, very, very close with Martha and as is my husband, obviously, you know, they've been husband and wife on the show for over 20 years, I think it is now. Did I, did I, it was not a complete 100% shock for me because I, I probably know her a little bit better than most people do. It was horrible, it was awful, I, it was awful. And that's all I can say. It was just not anything to get through and she did what she needed to do and she did a great thing and she's got an incredible husband and family that, you know, clearly support her in anything that she does and you cannot be the kind of person that Martha is and not have good things come to you because she just puts it out there in such a way that I never worried about her. I just knew that she would, you got to like just follow your heart and be true to yourself and, and things fall into place and, and sure enough, you know, I don't know how much, how long it's been since she's left, but it's clearly fallen into place. Yeah, exactly, we actually have a, someone actually emailed me a question for you. Yeah. They did, they emailed me a question for you and ironically enough her name is Lily. Oh, that's funny, it's probably Martha. Oh my goodness, I, I thought that too and I saw it, I said, oh, is, is this funny? That's funny. Her question is, she says Emily is my favorite female character on the show and Paul and Emily are my favorite couple of all time. I was heartbroken when the relationship had ended and killed and your little girl was killed in the storyline. The possibilities for stories are endless with these two, their family, their rich history, and being outcast and crazy. Yeah, we touched about that, Lily. Yeah. I was wondering how did you feel about the, the writer's decision to end the couple and use Emily as props for others and what's it like to work with her favorite actor Roger Howard? Um, great question, um, I am totally on her team when it comes to, um, him. He is definitely one of my favorite favorite people to work with. I think those characters are so great together. They are so dysfunctional and so tortured, um, and it doesn't even really have to be on a romantic level. I just love when they're together and they commiserate or, you know, conspire together. Um, there's just kind of a chemistry that happens between the two of us that, that I really enjoy. Um, he's like, you know, my big dysfunctional brother, I say to him in a really good way. Um, and what's it like to work with him? He's wonderful. I love Roger. I, I, I would go to the mat for him and, and, uh, he's just, he's wonderful. He's cookie and wonderful and great father and wonderful actor and a good friend. So yeah, he's, he's great. A little cookie and we like that. A little cookie. A little cookie. Yeah. Make it interesting. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. No, I love it. I love it. He's a, he's a good guy. Also too, they're, um, you know, everybody, everybody, obviously in the business, who, who I've been speaking with have touched about this a little bit, uh, with, uh, the news breaking out of Goni and I being canceled off the CVS, um, you know, it's one of the things that I like to ask people because, you know, it makes it look like the soap industry as a whole and how did you, when you hurt, when you first heard about guiding light about that kind of issue, what did that, how did that make you feel not just, um, from being on your show, but as an actor overall, you know, it's, but by just looking on the outside in about it, um, I, I got that news. I was in this city and I was on the corner in a cab on 57th and eighth, um, and my stomach sunk. It just shot me an email, um, and I actually picked up the phone and called my boss because I don't, I just felt like I needed to, I just said to him, you know what, we need to, we need to take this as a sign and just let it light a fire on us and let us really just put it all out there and work as hard as we can and, and throw caution to the wind and, and really try to raise it to the roof a little bit, you know, just let's bring it up and, right, you know, you, you think of all of your friends that are there that are, you know, come September are going to be looking for work and that's awful. It's awful for the soap opera industry, you know, that's a show that's been on the air for, you know, 50 some years, um, has had a faithful following and, um, it's awful. It's the end of an era for, for them, for, for all of us and it's not good for any of daytime, so I just think you got to just, you got to raise it up a little bit. You just got to turn, turn the gas up, everybody does and, and really go for it and focus on good story and good writing and, and, and get back to basics. Um, so I don't know, I look at it as inspirational, you have, you have to, otherwise it's just just so depressing. You just want to, you know, crawl under, or, or a bed, but you can't, and they're all really good actors over there and hopefully they'll all find jobs. Right, I, I agree with everything that you said wholeheartedly because I, I looked at it and I just go, even for me, you know, just being as a host and journalist by just looking at it and I'm just, I was so, I was so stunned by it because, you know, I'm worried about everybody else because if you can do this with a show that's been on for counting radio 72 years, you know, nope, nope, nope, nothing is safe right now, you know, no, no, no. But the, the tragedy is, do we really need another game show and we want another talk show? I mean, I, I don't know. And if, if a reality show comes on, I'm going to just die. I can't take it anymore. I can't take it anymore either. I'm sorry. Unless it's American Idol, you know, at 10 o'clock, then I would, I'd watch it. That's different. All right, that's different. I'll, I'll go without one, but, but during the daytime, I, I, I, there's too much of that already. But it's definitely not, you definitely not needed it, but I agree with you. You got to, you got to step up the game a little bit. You got to, you got to get back to the basics with your writing and everybody, you know, you just got to get back to what you once knew and once, I think once they establish that, then I think you're sad. Well, you have to tell good story. It all starts on the script and you've got the people to play it and you just have to write good story and it's not easy, you know, these, this many days out of the year, it's, it's a challenge. Um, but we've got a great, we've got a great cast, we've got a great crew, we've got a great leader, you know, forging through under very, very, very tough times and you do the best you can. It's all you can do. Yes, absolutely. Um, I'll introduce you to my co-host who is showing up fashionly late. Not, it's, it's not a bad thing, but it's a good thing. All right. Good thing. Matthew, how are you? Good, how are you, how are you, how are you, how are you doing out there? Just fine. How are you? Where are you? Pretty good. I'm actually driving right now in Pittsburgh. So it's sort of as if I have you guys on talk radio in my car. Oh, God. I hope you don't have AT&T. I, I'm, I'm, you might, you don't know, we know, I, I'm, I'm a Verizon customer. That's right. Yeah. That's good. You're in good hands. It's true. So much for coming on to the show and I, my question for you is, so Emily, your character Emily on the show has had so many rivalries. Who's your favorite actor to spar with? Actor or actress? Both of them. Both? Neither over. Um, my favorite actor or actress to spar with. God, that's a good question. I don't think I've ever been asked that before. Um, do I spar with, you know, I'd probably Margot. Margot, he, she's great. I would say, I would say Margot or, or, um, or, uh, Paul. Oh, good. Yeah. Yeah. Like a good love hate relationship. Okay. When you said, send that, I've always really thought you would have said Lucinda. Yeah, no, I would have said Lucinda like 10 years ago, but I sort of respect her too much to, I, I don't really go at it with her because she sort of would eat me for lunch. That's true. Like I'm a little older and wiser to know my, what, what, what my boundaries are. And I've really grown to love her. I think Emily really affects her. Well, what about Barbara? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Barbara. Yeah. She's a good one to hate. Yeah. She's, she's actually, I, yeah. I thank you for that. Yeah. Definitely. Yeah. We hate Barbara. I would be scared of Barbara. I mean, she, she's one to not people out with those pins from the kitchen. Yeah. Oh, golden pins. Yeah. She did that to me. Yeah. Oh, yeah. She's a, yeah. She's that. Hmm. She's all that. Yeah. She's all that. And, and some. Yeah. And some. Turkey. You know? Do all the evil stuff and cook a turkey. Yeah. Listen, you got to do it all. You bring home the bacon and you know, feed it to your man. It's true. That's true. So that, that's another thing that she, she managed to mention that I have to ask. What is it? What is it looking like with this relationship with Hunter? Yeah. Interesting. Yeah. No, I'm very proud of him. He had his first air show last week, which was, I thought, great. But I'm so not telling. It's great. It's great. You're not telling? No. It really, it, to me, it's like one of the best stories that I've, that I've played in maybe the last five years. Love it. Love it. Love it. And the audience is going to fall in love with him. He's wonderful. But I'm not saying anything. There's just nothing to say other than stay tuned because it's really, really good. I totally respect him because I hate to be spoiled and, yeah, thank you. I thank you for that. Yeah. No, my own mother called me because she watches on occasion and she asked me what his deal was. I'm like, you got to watch like everybody else. I don't want to. Oh, oh. Yeah. No. You want to go along for the ride? It's too much fun. Yeah. All right, we got a, maybe someone else can try to work out. I don't think it's possible, but we do have a, we do have a fan question who is calling in. I believe this is Jenny. Jenny, is that you? Hi. Yes, it's me. Hi, guys. Hi. Hi, Kelly. It's got there like four of us, there's four of us on the phone right now. Right. Right. Wow. That's incredible. I saw you at the luncheon, Kelly, and I didn't get to talk to you because right before I got up there, you and John had the lead. Oh, I know. You know what? I'm sorry. We did. We, we had my daughter's. Yeah. Yeah. You know what? We have three kids. Somebody has something at some point. And when we're both together, there's nobody there to take her. Oh, no. Oh, that's too bad. I'm sorry. I didn't get a chance to meet you. That's okay. I, I, John was nice enough to at least knock a picture with me and find my picture. It's like, I gotta go, they'll do this for you. Oh, that's nice. And I'm sure I just, I took my daughter and scooted out of there. Yeah. I saw you. Oh, man. I was, um, looking forward to meeting you, um, I've been watching since you started. I, I remember when you came on at Emily back and it was such a drastic change from Melanie Smith, you know, because Emily went from being like this brunette siren to this, you know, to keep blonde. Yeah. And just like, oh, okay. But I love you. First of all, I just wanted to let you know that I, I, I totally love you. Well, I took 17 years, but thank you for the whole time you've been on. I, I've been like, wow. Yeah. Thank you. That's nice. Yeah. No, I, I never met her. I, and I didn't watch the show prior to getting the job. So I, I had no clue of, you know, who anybody was. Um, which is probably better because, you know, you don't want, I think, uh, compared to the girls. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. It's all I knew. I was listening to you talk about, about Alex, you know, I, I, I was, I was with Alex this weekend, this past weekend, it's so fast and he had nothing but good things to say about you. Yeah. Um, he loves working with you. He was just completely like, yeah, that you helped him out and everything like that. And I want to say I'm looking totally looking forward to seeing what more happens with, uh, Emily and Hunter as time goes on because, um, I thought he did very well on Thursday too. Oh, God. Yeah. Oh, wait. Yeah. Wait, you see it. I'm telling you, it's really good. It's like this classic soap opera. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He said that it was really, I, I'm looking forward to it. I'm totally excited. I did have a question for you. You said, you stood on for 17 years and you've done an amazing job so whole time, uh, what would your, your favorite story, would you say that, that you've done, because she's done a lot of different things. And who is your favorite leading man? Um, Oh God. That's not fair. Um, I mean, obviously I'm going to say my husband, I mean, I have like one scene with him. I say two words and a bar. I'm going to say it's him. Um, but that's not really fair. No, it's not fair. No, I actually don't really like working with him because I, I, I have a hard time keeping a straight face. It's not, it's not easy. It's too, we're, we're like in high school and we work together. It's not good for anybody. Yeah. Um, my, my favorite story, and this is going to sound a little sick and twisted, um, but this is going back many, many years when we were actually shooting in the other studio in New York, not in Brooklyn and Manhattan, um, when Emily was attacked by Diego and the, the ramifications of all of that the year after. And I was, you know, this is going back 10, 12 years, I think, um, I think, I don't even know. I'm just guessing, but I just remember it was, it was the first like really deep heavy thing that I had really ever had to, to do and challenge myself with and, um, I love that. I love that kind of dark, scary, sad place in her life. I, I thought that was, yeah, it was really fun to explore. Um, and I've always found out that dark stuff is a lot of fun to play. Yeah. I mean, it's crazy. For me, it's a lot of fun to write. So I can imagine true, as an actor, it's a lot of fun to, oh my God, I mean, the things that they throw at this character, I was three months pregnant when they told me I was going to be a prostitute and how it was gonna culminate. And I was like, yeah, I was like, I ran out of, out of his office so excited about the story. And then I was like, Oh God, I better tell him I'm pregnant because they got to move, they got to move with the story fast because she's going to be a pregnant prostitute. Um, but all the stories that I get, I guess it's just the stories that are so far from who you are and from what your life experiences are. Yeah. You know, when, when she snaps, when she, when she has her nervous breakdowns, I mean, that nervous breakdown, I had a couple of years ago where she tried to take her life. I, you get it. You go to such a funky, dark place that it's fun when you just get to go home and be your happy, true self, but you come here and you really just stripped down to that. That's wonderful. And as far as leaning men, I'm very public about saying it's, it's always Roger and Grayson. I just, I really love working with the two of them. I love to see, I, I love to, I do love seeing you and Roger work together and you and Grayson were pretty fun too. So I can definitely agree with that. Yeah. No, I should. Fun. You know, on every level, I really enjoy them. So it's, it's great. I do have to say one of my favorite scenes from Emily has to be whenever she shot Paul. That was one of my favorites. Yeah. We were talking about that before. That was fun. I mean, that was like bad ass. I was just. It was. Yeah, I, I do love the scenes when you spar with your mother or with Marnie. Those are, those are always fun to watch as well. Yeah. Those are as natural as they come. There's such a rapport with, especially with my mother. I feel like they're effortless scenes. They are just typical mother, you know, Susan and Emily Stewart, this lovely relationship, you know, they just drive each other crazy. It's, they, she's incredible. She's just one of my favorite people in the whole world. Awesome. Yeah. It's all good. It's all good. Thanks so much. Yeah. Thanks for calling in. Thank you. Take care. Bye. All right. We got a. She was down in Florida with, with all those guys at that. So fast. That's great. She was. She was dedicated to them. Let me tell you. Wow. All those new fans were there. They were hoping I was going and I was supposed to, but school funds prevented me otherwise. Oh, wow. Yeah. It's fun. It's actually a really wonderful weekend. I've been in the past. It's great. Yeah. Oh, nice. Nice. Now we got one. We got a color. We got time for one more from North Carolina and my clothes. Am I right? Are you from North Carolina? I am. You are. Yeah. Hey, North Carolina. What's up? Hey, how are you doing? Hey, I'm Kelly. Hi. How you doing? I'm good. That's good. I can't believe I'm actually talking to you. Great. What's your name? My name is William. I'm from Raleigh, North Carolina. Oh, that's great. Nice to meet you. You too. Basically, I just had three quick questions. One of my favorite things from Emily was whenever you are more with and mark the burn, whenever y'all was fed into the spa. Yeah. You loved that. Great. But one thing that I love from the storyline was that y'all have spiraled, you know, to be friends or whatever. But then I think, yeah, but then they have stopped the Carly and Emily friendship. So what do you think about that? I mean, because to me, you and Carly was like a force to be reckoned with as friends. Yeah. I agree. I love that you remember that. There was the three of us. I'm looking at Mora on screen right now. She's working. I'm looking at the live feed of Kaping right now. The three of us were pregnant at the time. All three of us at the same time. We had so much fun shooting that storyline. Yeah, it we laughed so much. You can't even imagine how much fun we had. And then we all went off and had our kids and came back and it was sort of like we talked about it a little bit, you know, amongst our character selves. And then I was like, why doesn't Emily have any more? She has no more girlfriends anymore. Exactly. I don't know. I thought it was, I agree and I'm going to pass it along. The girls need to have their girlfriends more. It really was something. Exactly. Because I would love to see Emily and Carly, you know, patch things. I mean because Carly, her life is a mess. Emily life is a mess. But it might as well be friends. Yeah, no, I agree. I couldn't agree with you more. We love it. We love working together. It's a blast. My second question would be how do you feel about the cast change? You know, Emily, you know, I know that Allison, you know, that's a recast. I mean, how do you feel about the recast on the show? My feeling is this. First of all, you can't control what an actor wants to do if an actor wants to stay or go. So if an actor makes the decision to move on, you have to either kill the character or recast. You know, if it's an important character, like Allison Stewart, you have to recast that character because she's such a part of our family, you know, weave. You can't just let that character go. Right. Yes. It's very hard to do. You know, Noel has had a tough time filling the shoes of Lillie and she's done a beautiful job with it. Will she ever replace Martha? No. Martha is totally, you can't replace her, but she's a wonderful Lillie. She's got a totally different dynamic with the character of Holden and Paolo's character. She brings something completely different to the plate. But fans are tough. You guys are tough, you know, you just, you know, you really hear the bell. I'm telling you, Nevada was like the hardest critic. Yeah. It's tough. You got to just like take a step back, take a deep breath and let the person prove themselves before you judge. I mean, I was hearing people say things about, you know, Alex's first day. It's his first day, like, let him, let him seize him a little bit. Let him, you know, let the world learn about him. It's very hard. I mean, I know when I watch my shows, I'm like, why did they recast that? They should just keep her as she is. And then six months later, I'm like, oh, my God, I love her. I love her as whatever. Right. So, you know, would they ever recast Holden? God, I would die. I mean, I would have certainly hoped not, you know, but they recast Lillie. I mean, anything, we're all recastable. That's the nature of the business. Yeah. And then I guess my last question would be this, actually, I'll, off the subject. There's going to be an AIDS walk in New York City, May 17. I was wondering, were you going to be a part of that AIDS walk? No, you know what? I actually have done some help because some of the people on the show have done some fundraising for that event. That particular weekend is the weekend, I believe, before, yeah, it's the weekend before my event, which is the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital event, Angels for Hope, which is the 29th. So I will be doing work for that event the weekend before getting ready for that. But I have been part of the AIDS walk in the past. I sort of, you know, make it my mission to be part of everything. I feel like I spread myself a little tooth thin, but it's hard to say no when you have this wonderful vehicle of daytime to prop you up and people, you know, pay attention to that, and you got to do what you can do for everybody. That's right. But I just have to say, I have to mention this, you're in Raleigh, North Carolina. I just have to say, for the record, when I was in high school, I applied to 13 colleges, and they were all part of this league of the arts, and they were all, you know, the wonderful acting schools in the country. And the only school I did not get an acceptance letter from was the school there. Which what's it called? No, it's the of the arts, it's the North Carolina School of the Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina. It's right there. Are you serious? I swear to God. I'm serious. You look right now. Right? Exactly. Well, I just have to laugh that it's finally coming full circle. The one pool out of 13 jerks. Oh, you're so nice to call in. Thank you. So nice. Thank you. And then of course, Kate, Emily, very spicy and crazy. I will. I will. I will. Thank you. I'll do my best. Thank you. Love it. Thank you. That's great. So funny. That's great. I love it. Before we sign off here, I want to promote your event again.
