Lock told radio. You're listening to BuzzworthyRadio.net. Check out my single Let It Rock and check out my album in the city and so is now. Hi everybody and welcome to a new edition of BuzzworthyRadio. I'm your host, Novell Jaylee, coming at you live. This Thursday, February 5th, 2009. It's 5 p.m. Eastern time to P.M. Pacific time. We're going to be joined by two Jackson V.P. star, Ashley Argonne. She plays the role of Lulu on the show and I believe she is with us right now. Ashley? Yes. How are you again? I'm good, are you? I'm doing very well. Thanks for doing the show today. Oh no problem. Now I first have to start off and say that I'm 23 years old and I've watched her Jackson V.P. Aw, thank you so much. I do watch it. I get a kick out of it. I love the show so it's like a real honor to be speaking with you right now. Aw, thank you so much. You're welcome. And you play the role of Lulu on the show. I do. Let's describe Lulu for us. Lulu is a character that one. She is very outgoing and she's always happy. She likes to make the best of life. She's very innocent and very, very clueless and she gets distracted so easily. And she's a little ditzy and that's where I don't identify with her at all because in real life I'm very focused and not ditzy. So it's fun to have to turn all that part of me when I'm playing Lulu. But yeah, it's pretty awesome. Yeah, how did the role come about for you? How did you get Kat's role? Well, back in March my acting coach actually texted me because she was coaching a couple people for the role of Drew. And she's like, "Well, there's this role of Lulu who plays the best friend and I think it'd be perfect for you." So I got in front of my agent and I was like, "Hey guys, I heard about this thing." And they were like, "Oh, we already submitted you for it." So I got an audition and I didn't hear anything for a couple weeks. But then they called me back for a call back and then I got another call back after that. And then that's when I waited forever and I thought like, "Oh, I probably didn't get it. It's over a blah." So I kind of moved on and then all of a sudden I got a call for my manager. And I had been sick that week and I was on my way to an audition where I had to sing. And I was losing my voice and my manager's like, "Well, how are you feeling?" And I was like, "I'm feeling better. I'm on my way to the audition. I still have a voice but I'm going to do my best." And then she goes, "Well, you might want to take care of yourself because we're going to be in negotiations for your testing contract on Monday." And I screamed my lungs out. Thankfully I didn't completely lose my voice and I was still able to sing at my audition but I was really excited that I got the testing. And then two days after the testing I found that I got the job. Nice. Yeah. It was a whirlwind. Congratulations. And I know someone else who wants to ask you the questions besides me is my co-host who decided to show up passionately late. Nice. Absolutely late. Excuse the pun here. Matthew Preston is on the line right now. How are you, sir? Hey, you guys were early for me. Don't make excuses. I'm just kidding. I know. Well, you know what? This blog talk radio thing is so new to me but it's like they just totally changed the system. But hey, I am so happy to have one of the stars from True Jack and VP. I heard my co-host say, "Yes, we are 20. We're at our 20's and we do love the show." Thank you so much. I'm glad you guys are liking it even though you guys are 20 but still. I know. I do have to know what is your, I mean like your show is of course in that little genre of its own whole comedy. You know, we have Disney, we have Nickelodeon. What do you think? Disney versus Nickelodeon. I know you're pretty much, you probably worked for both. You know, what do you think? That's whole kid comedy genre. Well, how do you mean? I mean, but when you come Hannah on Canada, we got, well, I Carly, I mean, it seems like there's just so many shows popping up. Also, he's just popping up. Like Victoria, Justice, she just did a pilot. I know he's going to have a show on Nickelodeon soon. And you know, there's a new show on Disney with Demi Lotto, like funny with the chance. But there's tons of shows popping up. Yeah. That's pretty cool. Wow. It is very cool. Now, I don't know that I couldn't find out anything. Is your show actually nominated for a kids choice award? We are not nominated for a kids choice award this year, but who I know? It's because they take all the shows from 2008. And since we only had three episodes that aired in 2008, we're not really qualified. Not eligible yet. Yeah. But that's okay. Maybe next year. We'll do it next year. Okay. Okay. So just checking that out because, you know, this is a good show to be nominated. And I think you got a great, you got a great stellar cast on this show. I love everybody that's on the show. But yeah, definitely. We're pulling for you guys next year. Thank you so much. We're going, though. We're going to be at the kids choice award. And we're really excited. It's my first time. It's Max first time Danielle and Ron. And I think Greg's first time as well. Kiki's gone before, but everyone else's our first time. So we're all really excited. That's pretty cool. That's very exciting, actually. Yeah. It's a word that, you know, like, this is a shame. I watch that too. Okay. Do you watch iCarly too? And do you watch SpongeBob as well? I do watch iCarly. Yeah, we love it. I have to talk about it. It's okay. I'll talk to you. It's all good. It's all good. My high school actually got into SpongeBob. Like, my chemistry class loved it. So, you know, we all watch it. It's pretty awesome. We can't get out of Nickelodeon phase. We're still young. I know. I love, love, love it. And exactly. Now, you also sing. I do. Like, you ever met before? You also sing. And, oh my goodness, you got a good voice. Can I say that? Thank you. I listened to the check on the website, your official website, actually. I got it.com. And it's amazing. And you were actually on the Arsenio Hall version of Star Search in 2003. How was that? I don't really remember a lot of most of it. But some parts I don't remember. I remember that he was really nice. And I had a great time. And I got to meet Naomi Judd after the semi-finals and Ben Stein. I remember being a little nervous, especially the first time because I'd never done that big of a talent show before. I mean, I did, you know, little talent shows here and there, you know, local things. But I've never done something that big before. So, it was a huge deal. But I had a lot of fun. It was great. Very, very nice. And is there anything that we could expect any of the coming up on Tree Jacks in this season that you know of that you can say? I can tell you that Lulu is going to have a boyfriend, but I'm not going to tell you who. I will tell you that it is somebody that she has mentioned on the show before. Oh. But I am going to have a boyfriend soon. Not Ryan, is it? No, I almost stopped that one right there. No. It's not Ryan Laser Beam. Okay. Just checking. No, no, no, no. So, I'm pretty sure all the, like, the die-hard true fans right out there are just like, "Oh, I know who it is." You know, so if you guys know, I don't know, maybe they call it and tell us that we know. Yeah, totally. I'll let you guys know. We need to have first divs on finding out who it is before anyone else. That's like the rule. Okay, you got it. I will call you any time there's a new development in the character of Lulu. I will just call you guys once you guys know. That's funny. Now, this is something I love asking the young kids, getting into the acting field the first time. Did you have any inspirations that you looked up to get into acting or is it something that you have wanted to do when you were younger or? It's, I've been in this. This is for so long now. It sounds like I'm 50, but I've been in this. This is for so long. My mom put me into acting and singing classes when I was really little because she thought that I'd be really key actors. I used to do different accents and stuff and I was always really cute and crazy when I was little. I think you'd be a really good actress. She put me in the classes to see if I'd like it. I never stopped from there. I love it so much. It's so much fun. As for inspiration, Meryl Streep is my favorite actress. Yes. I know. Everyone's really surprised. Meryl Streep. That's everyone's reaction. Who's your favorite actress, Meryl Streep? Oh my gosh. Are you serious? I get that a lot. I mean, I felt the same way as soon as you said that. I was like, wow, really? And people are also surprised to know that one of my favorite singers is Celine Dion. Well, you are an old soul. I know. I know. I'm like 50. It is sadness. But that's good, though. I mean, that's really good, though, that you look out to Meryl Streep for that inspiration. She's amazing. That's incredible. I seriously never expected that at all. Never. Well, I'm surprised. She loves Meryl Streep so much. What is your favorite Meryl Streep movie? There are so many to choose from. What is yours? Actually, you know what? As for drama, it's definitely Sophie's choice. I love Sophie's choice. And I know. And for comedy, I really liked her in the Devil's Worth protest. She was amazing. It was. I didn't actually see that movie. I really didn't. I co-worker thought. It takes like, but it's a good movie. I don't know, maybe. Oh, but which one? The Devil's Worth protest, Sophie? Yes. Devil's Worth protest. I love that movie. The Devil's Worth protest is sort of like what a take is from your show. You're sort of so very ugly, the Nickelodeon version of sort of ugly buddy slash Devil's Worth protest. Yeah, that's actually, that's how a lot of people are describing it. And I guess in a way it kind of is, except our boss isn't very mean to us. He's actually very nice to us. That is true. As for Amanda, I can't understand anything. That's the one that I think I love about the character Amanda, Amanda though. Danielle does a very good job with this part. Yes, it's awesome. That's one of the one of the crazy things I like about this character. And one of the things I like about your character is that you're just so off the path crazy. Yeah, I know. Especially in the pilot, I remember because it was like, I've never done a big TV show like that. And to have to play with the blind and then play with the refrigerator door. I was like, what am I doing? And then I was just, oh my gosh, it's so much fun to play Lulu. Very, very different than your guest on iCarly for that one episode though. A little different. Yeah, well yeah, a little different. She was still very hyper and stuff, but Kathy was the gossip girl. And I don't, Lulu doesn't really like to gossip that much. Not really. Oh, I don't know really. Not many of the scripts that I've done. We don't really gossip that much. Unless it's all boys, then maybe. Oh, okay. Because I could see Lulu as kind of like a little gossess kind of girl. It could go that route. It could. It could. Definitely could. Besides Meryl Streep, would you like to work with her in the not too distant future? Or is there any other actress or actor you'd like to share some screen time with? I would love to work with Meryl Streep. Heck yes. Oh my gosh. Heck wasn't a bad word to my mom. Don't say bad words on the radio. Internet radio, you can say it. Internet radio, I can say it, they said. The mom's getting right there behind you, you can't. I know. You want to be good. You want to be good. That's true. I know. I'll be good. I'll be good. So Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie is my other favorite actress. So I'd love to do something with her as well. Hi. Pretty cool. Wow. So something I would know out of all the episodes that you've shot for Tree Jackson, what has been the most, what has been your favorite and why? Oh man, I have a lot of them. When we did the Ryan Tuckler episode, we had to do this with his boys. That was an adventure. I've never had to be a boy before. And I had no idea what to do. I called an actress. I was like, what do I do? Can you please tell me, like, is there anything specific I need to be doing here? I'm a boy. She's like, you have to be able to keep a ball in the middle of your legs. So you're like, oh my god. So that was definitely one of my favorites. That's an adventure. Oh man. And my other favorite one was, we all had to dress up really pretty because we were all supposed to go to a dance and I got to wear a very, very pretty gown. And the other favorite one, and I'm just going to stop at 30 because I have a lot of them, is when we got the boyfriend and I'm not going to tell you who it is. When will we find out who the boyfriend is? Can you say that? When can you actually, I don't know. I don't know when the episode is ever going to show. In the next month or so, I'm pretty sure that episode is going to air. So wherever you got the part and you got to tell all of your friends, what was your friend's reaction to actually seeing you on your TV show? They were really excited. They were very supportive. I didn't, I wasn't like nervous, but then I was kind of like, oh, I wonder if you're not. Oh my gosh. I can't wait to see it. I was really excited to see it. And all my friends had texted me beforehand. They were like, we're totally watching. We have your bag. You're going to be amazing. And then when we saw it after the show had aired, I got so many calls and text messages and they were like, it was so good. That was so much fun. We love your character. I feel like anybody really knew that I could play a crazy character like that. So I guess it's a good kind of a sock to everyone, but everybody really liked it. It made me really happy, so. That's really good. Very, very good that they're all supportive like that. Is there anything that happens behind the scenes that fans who watch the show obviously don't know about? Like, is there a practical joke to go on? What's really happened behind the scenes of True Jackson and 18? What really happened behind the scenes? There's a lot of school. I think a lot of people out there think that Kiki and I don't have to do any school. Matt's 18, so he doesn't have to do school anymore. He's not a minor, darn. But Kiki and I still do have to do school. Unfortunately. They do do a lot of in-school stuff there on the Senate if I'm not mistaken, right? Yeah, we do. We do have to school a day. Sometimes more if we have to bank any hours. But Kiki and I spent a lot of time in the school a lot of time. As for Joe, Kiki has this thing where it looks like a pack of gum. So when you put your thumb on it, you think you're going to take the piece of gum, but it actually shocks you and she likes to do that to everyone. That's really funny. Wow. And she has one that's not a remote. It's a light, like a little car key light thingy. And she went into my dressing room and I knew it was going to happen. And she tried to do it to my mom. And I didn't say anything. My mom was kind of like, "Why do you want me to press the button?" And she's like, "Just press it. It's really cool." And I just stood back and watched it. And she totally got my mom with that. And my mom chased me to the school room and spanked my butt when I got there. We have so much fun when we're here. It's a very, a relationship on the show where all of us friends. It's very much like that backstage. It's a huge family here. I love it. Poor mom. Yeah, right? I know. She's like, "I can't believe you didn't tell me." I was like, "Sorry. It was funny." It's a joke. You're not supposed to tell you. It's a joke. We're not supposed to tell you. I think. Oh, yeah. I just think. Kiki, too. Well... [laughter] That's pretty funny. [laughter] One of the, one of the, one of the actors on the show who is actually one of my favorites as well is Greg Proof. She gets to work with Greg Proof all the time. Greg Proof is awesome. This is probably where you get to know what it's like. Yeah. What's it like? Well, I will say this. I watched, two lines of it anyway, I watched that show forever. That blue net show took up half of my time on the TiVo. It was kind of sad. And I didn't know that he was going to be working with me. Yeah, I know. It's such a funny show. My gosh, I love that show. But he, I had no idea who was going to be Max because I didn't see him at testing or anything. So, for our fitting when we did the pilot, he has, like all of our pictures were up. Everybody was going to be in the show with up and wardrobe. And I saw a picture and I was like, "Oh, Greg Proof." And I thought like, "Oh, I did like, I didn't really think anything of it." And then I saw him at Table Read that Monday and I was like, "Oh my gosh, you're Greg Proof." And you are working with us as Max Madigan. This is crazy. And actually we were just talking about that a couple of weeks ago. My mom was like, "Could you ever think he'd be working with Greg Proofs of all people?" And I was like, "No." And it's such a dream come true. He is so much fun. He's so smart. It's like, he's ridiculously smart. Oh my gosh. You think that's not like you expected him to not be smart? Well, it's all that I didn't expect. I saw that. It's just like, he's smart. He has everything that guy. It is crazy. Like, I was doing, I was doing some, my AP English class. I was doing Transcendentalism. And I went downstairs and he's like, "So what are you working on in school?" And I was like, "Transcendentalism." And he listed all these facts about Transcendentalism. I was like, "How do you know this, man?" He's like, "Oh, I have a big brain. I know a lot." And so now every time I need to help with any of my school work, I'm just like, "Hey, Greg, can you tell me about this?" And he'll just go off about whatever subject I give him that. And he's hysterical both on and off camera. So it's a lot of fun to work with Mr. Greg Proofs. I think we're going to start a new show and it might be called, "Are you smarter than a Nickelodeon star?" Because, wow, even, I don't even know what those are. So, wow. [laughter] I think that is going to be a great show. It is Nickelodeon's new hit show. Yeah, I hope so. It's something about Nickelodeon, which, it's like my girlfriend, and she was like, "Oh, Nickelodeon, don't they slime people anymore?" I'm like, "I don't know, I don't know." So, do they still slime people in Nickelodeon? Yes, actually the very first huge Nickelodeon suit that I had to do with like all the people from all the different Nickelodeon shows and stuff, like with iCarly and Spectacular, the very first thing I had to do with them was get slimed, and it was a very interesting experience. [laughter] So yes, they do still slime people. [laughter] Cool. I am pretty sure there will be sliming on that show. It would not be Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards if there were not sliming over there. It's sliming every year, every year, so always expect slime at the Kids Choice Awards. There will be slime. I'm going to bring a change of clothes. I'm going to bring about 30 changes of clothes, because I'm very afraid that I'm going to get slimed when I get there. You're going to get to meet Dwayne Johnson, who is hosting you. Oh my gosh, I'm so excited. I am so excited. I get to meet all these new people. It's going to be so much fun. Oh my goodness. I can't wait to watch it, and I can't wait to find out who is Lulu's boyfriend on True Jackson, but my dear, it has been so much fun talking to you on the show. Did you have fun? I did have fun. This is a great one. Thank you guys for having me. Any problem? We would love for you to do a little promo for us. We call it a singer. You can say something. It has to have your name and both with your radio's name in it. Except all I'm going to say, improvise it how you want it. Like how? Give me some tips. What have other people done? Well, we've had Blake Lewis from American Idol. He beatboxed his promo. Who else? Somebody from Hasbro, who developed Help Me Out on Totally Drawing a Blank with his name. Talking about talking about ants and spiders and clouds and stuff. It's insane. You just basically have to go. This is actually our gada from True Jackson DP. You're listening to Buzzworthy Radio. It could be improvise in any which way you want. Wherever you want. Okay. I'm going, okay. Did I go? We're going for you. Okay. Hey guys, it's Ashley. I got her from True Jackson DP and you're listening to, right? Yes. I was going to say you're watching. I was like, wait, you can't watch this interview. Never mind. Here we go. Take care. As you guys can tell, I'm a dork in real life. Anyway. Hey guys, it's Ashley, our gada and you're listening to Buzzworthy Radio, the best radio ever. Whoo! Love it. Awesome. We love for you to come back any time. Absolutely. I would love that. Thank you guys so much. You take care now. You too. Talk to you soon. See you later. Bye. We're going to take a little promotional break here before we bring on Joe Ann. So we're going to be playing you a little Twilight Promo. That's about to be happening on a blog talk radio this Monday night. Want to find out more? I'll take a listen to this. Twilight fans, join Stardish Radio Monday, March 9th at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8th Central. To listen live or call in and speak with Taylor Lochner who plays Jacob Black in the hit film. He'll be talking about the making of Twilight and its sequel, New Moon. To log on, go to blogtalkradio.com/startish. That's Monday, March 9th at 9 p.m. Eastern. You can also text Jacob Black to 44636 to get an SMS reminder that Taylor is on the air. Joe Ann, are you with us? Hey, has everybody. We're doing good. Well, how are you? Oh, I'm fine. I'm excited. Are you excited for Monday? Oh, I am. I am. I'm excited for Monday. My God, I'm actually going to be home to carry it. I won't be at work. Oh, okay. Yeah, it's insane. I got some emails from people from Spain today. It's just crazy. You're going to get emails off the wazoo about this. I mean, Twilight, like I said on blogtalkradio, an hour ago, Twilight is a huge deal. It's a huge, huge deal that's going on right now. It's a huge franchise. And for your show and blog talk radio to be in conjunction with Wal-Mart to promote this off, that's amazing that you guys are able to pull this off. I mean, I've said it then. I'm going to say it now. Wal-Mart radio came a long way after this. After this was promoted on the wazoo. I mean, I woke up to it and that was the first thing I saw. I was like, "Get out of here." I was like bowing. Yeah. It's a big score for everybody. You know, it really is. What was your reaction when you had found that out? What did you do? What were you like? You know what? When they called me and asked me if I would be interested in doing it, of course. You know, I mean, but at that point I hadn't seen Twilight yet. I've heard of it. I've seen the promos. I've seen all the interviews and stuff like that. But I had never seen the movie at that time. But I went out the next day and saw it. And I took my kids and they both loved it. It wasn't so much a chick flick. You know, like my oldest one thought it would be and he really liked it. And I fell in lust with Edward Collins. I did. I'm in lust. You've been in lust. I am. I certainly am. So, you know, what I wanted to say too is that we have a special 1-800 number for people to call in also for the Monday night show. Let me pop that out. It's 1-800-874-5757. And it's just an amazing ride. I can't even begin to tell you. So, you know, like I said, when I got the call, I was like, "Oh, right. No big deal." But you know me. I don't really get starstruck. And I watched Taylor Watner and Sharkboy and Lava Girl and Cheaper by the Dead then, you know, I have kids that watch this movie. So, it's great to do it. I'm honored. So, how excited are your kids? You know, they must be like thrilled that mom's going to be interviewing a huge star from Twilight. Can I tell you something? They're so just like whatever right now. They don't care. You know? They don't. It's just like this is what mom does, you know, and that's it. You know, they don't really get all obsessed over it. I mean, my 16-year-old, of course, went and spread the word over at his high school. And, you know, my little guy, you know, he's just like, "Okay, you know, cool." You know? He watched his true Jackson. And I told them, "Oh, she's on the radio." And it's like, "Okay." So, I was like, "Hi." You know? No big deal. You know? They don't get like that, you know? My niece has read all the books, so she's more excited. She's 14. I think it excites the girls more than it does the boys. You know? She's read every one of the books, and she loves them. And, you know, I know a few other teenage girls that are in love with the books. And they love the books, I think, more than the movie. But the movie just puts everything in perspective for them. So, it's like something physical for them to attach to. So, I think that's why they're so attracted to these guys. Absolutely. And part of the Twilight Walmart promotion that's going on Blog Talk Radio, we're actually doing some Twilight DVD giveaway that's happening that started yesterday, that's going to happen all the way up until March 9th. So, anybody who is going to be having shows or having shows, make sure you check them out too. I'm pretty sure they'll be doing that there. We actually do have a caller that's calling in right now. Cool. And I know who it is, too, by the way. Hello, Brandy. Hello. Hey, Brandy. Hi, guys. How are you? Well, good. Also, how are you? I'm a coolest girl on Facebook that never sleeps. I know, right? No, you're not. She already says she has insomnia. She does. Take a banana drill, girl. Take a banana drill. I know. I have to go to sleep sometime. I don't know. Probably go to bed early tonight at 8 o'clock. So, I had to catch a train in the morning at like 7.30 to go to New York City. Why are you going to New York? I am going to New York because I'm going on the set of "Guide and Light". That's so cool. I have a set tour. Pretty cool. Oh, yes. Very cool. I'm very excited about it. But they should all know you. You've been there so many times. They should probably already know you like, first thing. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. The people that are doing the tour are Marcy, Caitlin, and Bonnie, and they all know me. That's awesome. You might be doing tour with them. You better make sure that when you see Marcy, I'm still waiting to hear back from her. We are. She still has a... She has not gotten in touch with me about what we talked about yet. No, I'll have my phone with me, you know. Oh, good. So now you'll be able to give it to her and have her tell me. Yell at you? Yeah, exactly. For those of you who don't know what we're talking about, Marcy and Robin were on the show months ago, and she told both of us, me and Matthew, that we had to go to the "Guide and Light" weekend event that took place in September. Both of us didn't go. I couldn't go because I had work. Matt didn't go because he chickened out. No, I didn't. No, I tried setting it up and it just didn't work out. But you still could have went anyway besides that. That is something... I didn't do something that day. I don't remember. I don't remember what you had to do either. You weren't there. I had fun without you and... Yeah, so Marcy totally called us out and was like, "I'm going to call in the buzzword radio and tell them they should have been there, so we're still waiting for our call." Well, that's pretty cool. I hope she calls and gives you a good heck for that. Brandy's the winner of the DVD. Mm-hmm. Yes. My pleasure. Brandy, you wanted Twilight DVD? Thank you. That's awesome. First of all, let me ask you this, Brandy. Did you see Twilight in theaters? Well, yeah, I saw the midnight showing of Twilight, okay? For you. I just wanted to make sure if you saw him, if you didn't see him, you have this awesome Robert Patterson that we don't know about. He's cute, whatever. Right, right, yeah. You're going to start kind of like Joanne's kids in a minute. Yeah, right. Well, congratulations, Brandy, and I hope that you'll be there on Monday, March 9, 9 p.m. Eastern to listen to Taylor Blutner. I will do my best to try. I'll be in New York City. Oh, that's right, okay. Well, you know what? There's a one-hundred number to show and listen to it. That's right. There's a one-hundred number to call into the show. I posted it in the chat room. One-hundred, eight-seven, four, fifty-seven, fifty-seven. So you can call in and listen that way, too. Cool. I see the number. Okay. All right, guys. I got to hop off. I don't make dinner for the kitties. You take care now. I'll see you back there. All right, guys. I'll talk to you later. Bye-bye. Good night, guys. Bye. And that, I believe, is going to wrap things up here on the show. I see Brandy is still on the line. So if you want to say bye, you can say bye now, or forever hold your piece. She's going to forever hold her piece, guys. But anyway, that's going to wrap things up for now. We are going to be back, hopefully, sometime next week. I don't have any shows yet, but we're going to be taking a little bit of hiatus while I head to California for a week. But until then, you guys get the latest buzz with Buzzworthy. And make sure you guys check out Monday's show on Stardust Radio with Taylor Lautner from New Moon, the sequel to the Twilight movie. Check that out. Monday, March 9, 2009. You can log on to www.dardustradio.com for more information on that show. So make sure you guys check that out Monday night. I'm going to be there. You guys better be there. I hope to see you on Monday. Take care.
