Hey, this is Officer Peck from Aswell's Turf, and you are listening to Fuzz Worthy Radio, the only place to get all the information that you need about life. About the world, about ants, insects, clouds, and the stars above. Hey, Lou out there in Radio Land. Welcome to Buzzworthy Radio. The only radio show we can learn about clouds and the stars above like Austin Peck said. I don't even know where he came up with that, but I'll ask him. But anyway, I am your host, Neville J.A. alongside my other host, Matthew Preston, joining you on this Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 1 p.m. Eastern Time. 10 a.m. Pacific Coast Time. We're going to be joined by Michael Park who plays the role of Jack Snyder on CBS Daytime as the world turns. But before we get to that, let's bring on our co-host, Matthew. How you doing there, Matt? I'm doing good. I'm actually on a mountain tips work. I'm taking the show on the road. I'm in Harrisburg because today is a historical day, especially in politics. We have the inauguration of the 50th auditor general of Pennsylvania, and his name is Jack Wagner. So congratulations because of the Jack Wagner. And also, I think there's a big, big -- there's something big under the Washington, D.C. with the starting in of a guy named Obama, President Barack Obama. He is our newest president. That's a pretty big thing, too. It was a very, very historical day, and I'm so -- I was so into it. Let's put that way. I was very, very much into it. Very cool. Very, very much so. And people are starting to call in right now, and everybody -- Are they really? The chatroom, yeah. And everybody is swarming into the chatroom. So if any of you want to call in as well, call in at 646-595-4228. All right. Let's bring on our guest for today. Since 1997, he has been playing the no-nonsense cop, Jack Snyder, on as well turn. Love, loss, intrigue, you name it. I mean, he's been back and forth with Carly Tenney for practically his time on the show. And practically. But now he's with this woman named Janet. I have to say to those Jack and Carly fans out there, well, let's find out the man himself. Mr. Michael Park is joining us right now. Hi, everybody. I'm just fine. No, can I ask you the origin of your name? That is the coolest name. I just wanted to -- what's the origin of that name? It's just a wonderful name. Wow. This is the first time on this show. Come on. It can't be. Yes, it is. How can someone -- how can someone be a guest on your show and just totally discount the fact that you have one of the coolest names you've ever heard? Well, it's simple, really. They don't like me. They like it more than myself. I'll stop it. Seriously, your mother is a very creative woman or is this a family name? My dad actually gave me the name. He came up with it because he was like, you need to have your own name. Not have anyone else's name. There's so many Jack and John and Michael and Jason down there. No offense. No offense taken. That was nothing -- not implied. But it was just like right there. I had to say it. Right. What is your last name if I may ask? Lee? Lee? Yes. All right. All right. Go for it. Yeah. So he was like, have your own name. That was it. At first I didn't like it, but now I'm like, oh, no, you got it. Pull the owner. Yeah, it's tough. It's tough growing up with a funky name. I got to say, Michael, Michael has been the number one name in the country for a year. So I'm going to relax and speak on that. No, I'm just saying that if I -- you've got all these names that people shorten. You know, like Michael, you can name these people called me Mike. Moore calls me Mikey. I named my son Christopher. And people call him Chris, which makes me cringe. So I combat that with calling him Topher. You know, so I mean, now is just one of those names you can't shorten. They try. I mean, I'm sure people get it wrong. I'm sure people call you Neville, right? Oh, my God. Yes. All right. Bring it. Oh, they do. They do. I got Neville, Naval, and then, of course, now I got the name. Well, naval is possibly the worst. That's just someone who can't read. This is true. You've heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen. I'm a loss of words on that one. So I should have all be about your guests. This is true. I like this guy. So Michael, I have to say, as we were talking about a little bit about the show, I'll admit, I like more stories. You know, as world turns, it's pretty much one of my favorites. I am totally liking Jack and Jen on a big fan of them. Oh, well, thank you very much. You know, it's always tough. You know, when someone comes on, it's fodder for Jack and Carly. And Julie Pence, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, a, a, a wonderful actor. She is that she, you know, she definitely threw herself in there. Kind of a Rose-esque/Mitzi-esque character, you know. And she, she brought some heart to it. And then I'm happy for her. I'm happy for, for the character that people have, have really embraced her. So that's, that's wonderful. Thank you. Now, how would, how, how would one describe Jack Snyder? Or how would Michael Park describe Jack Snyder? Well, I think, you know, it's easy. It's interesting you ask that because in the last year and a half, it's been hard to describe Jack because he's gone from this. You, you name him this ultra. I mean, you, you, you, you entitled him this ultra good or, uh, when he, he can be self-righteous to a fault. In the past, he could be self-righteous to a fault. Now he's just, I think, uh, I, I, I show up two days a week to point fingers at Carly and tell her what a bad mother she is. I don't really know. Sure. Um, it's, um, it's getting harder. It's getting harder and harder to play and to justify without, you know, I'm a father of three in real life. So in, in fathering, in parenting, I can honestly say the way to, uh, parent a child who's acting out is not what Jack is doing right now. So I don't, I don't really know. I don't, I mean, this, this, I'm almost, I'm at a loss for words for describing how Jack is reacting to, uh, Parker's antics. Um, I know in the back, in, in his heart of hearts, he still loves Carly. He loves Janet. Yes. And Janet is easy. Janet doesn't, uh, bring any, any problems or trouble to the table. Um, Hannah was waiting. Uh, what's that? You know, kind of. No. Not in a sense. You probably mean it right now. But, um, uh, Carly, Carly's, uh, a very complex character. And, um, and so in his heart of hearts, you know that Jack loves Carly. It's just, he's frustrated. It seems he's frustrated easily, uh, upon seeing her these days. How many wives has Jack had in the past of what, like, six, five or six years? About like four or five? Maybe? Mm-hmm. Has, has four or five what? Four or five, I think, wives. First it was what? Julia? I know. I know. I know. He's habitual. He's turned into the, you know, he's turned into the Katie of the show. I don't know why. I don't know why the writers marry people off, uh, immediately. I don't understand that. Um, I can't answer that. It seems like he was a one woman. There's a, there's a, there's a JT album called "One Man Dog." You know? I always thought that I was a one woman guy. But, uh, unfortunately, you know, in order to mask my feelings, in the past it was always to mask my feelings for Carly. Or to, to, to Jack to mask his feelings for Carly. To, to marry the, the, the thing right next to him, the, the person that gives him the attention that he needs. And is, is, is kind and generous and loyal. And unfortunately, they've always turned out to be, you know, a, a lamb to the slaughter for, uh, the, the Carly and Jack pairing. Um, unfortunate, and, and I gotta tell ya, I have no answer because I, I still don't understand why he married Katie right away. And then, and the only, only to cheat on her, really. And, uh, divorce her soon after that. Um, that was a, uh, that was an interesting story. Carly, Carly, uh, running off with Simon, I must say. [laughing] Because that, you know? I have to bet that was. Jack throws that in her face every chance he gets. And, uh, I don't know. I love, I love this character. I do. Don't get me wrong. I love him. I think this character is, uh, he's a, he was a great guy. I think we've got to go back to him being a wonderful guy again. I just hope that there's, you know, I'm tired of the keregs coming on the show and all the barber coming back. And after all the terrible things they've done, the fan seems to embrace them, seem to embrace them more. And Jack, although he's a little bit exhausted of the antics, Carly has, uh, has done the last five, six years. Uh, he, he's the one. Jack is the one who has looked on as a bad guy, as an abusive husband. Right. You know, verbally abusive husband. Give me a break. I can take that to an extent. But, um, I, I just, I just don't see, I just don't see how you justify. What Carly does. And, and you can't justify Jack's reaction to it. I just don't, I just don't see it. I've never had. And this day, in this day and age, with the advent of the, of the internet, everyone's a, everyone's a critic. Everyone's got an opinion. I mean, there's nothing off the record. There's nothing off the record. So, I'm sure a carjack fan, they are just, if one is, somebody's going to break, break up Carly and Jack. They are like the first to let you know about it. They're vicious. Hey, no, I am, I am blessed. And I have been since we, since Mora came on, that, uh, you know, the fans have embraced us in there. You know, they're, they are wonderful fans. They're an incredible group of people and they have withstood a lot. They have. But, you know, let's, let's be honest. The Jack and Julia fans, the Julia fans, and now the Janet fans, they're, um, they're pretty solid too. Um, so I, I can't complain. I have been blessed. I have been blessed, uh, working with a bunch of really amazingly talented actors over the years. So what, I mean, you were, you were just talking a few minutes ago, like, uh, what you want to see for Jack Snyder right now. You want him back to the good guy again. You want him to be, like, how he was when he first came on in the beginning. Like, God, this is a 10 years ago. Yeah, right. My youth is now going away from me. Over 11, over 11. Over a while. Thank you. Yeah. Sorry to bear that. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah, I know. Hey, listen. My son is 11 years old. He's like my, he's a timeline. I've got a daughter. I've got a, I've got two daughters as well. They're all timelines. I can't get away from it. So, but I don't know. Is it possible for Jack to go back to being a good guy? Yes. Um, is that interesting to the people who are writing the show right now? I have no idea. I don't know. Um, it seems like, like I said, Craig can come on and all of his, all of his misgivings are forgiven. I mean, he's, he's killed people. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He's walking around, free of the bird. Jack is the one saddled with all this guilt, uh, from, from, uh, hurting Carly Parker running around, running away every five minutes the kid runs away. I mean, what does the parent do? Seriously. Who knows? My kid ran away every five minutes. I think I, I don't know. I might just, I'd throw in the, I'd throw in the towel. I mean, the kid runs away more than, I mean, I go to the bathroom every day. Yes. Okay. I, I, it's crazy. I'm sorry to, I, that's the person that came to my mind, guys, I'm sorry if that was rude. But it was absolutely, it, it, it seemed, it, it's getting to be a little nutty. Yeah. But it, you know what, it is entertaining because after a while you, you, you're, you're playing the same beat. And after a while you got it, after the scenes are over, you got a smile. You really do. And also we get to see Jack as a cop. I mean, that's like the number one good guy occupation in Oakdale. So, it's always, he always has that to go for him. Ellen and I, Ellen and I have a lot of fun letting some really heinous characters leave the police station. We have a lot of fun. I mean, Ken Shriner was on the show, Ken Shriner was on the show and you know, he played a cop for a while too. And it was always his, he said, the playing a cop is the toughest thing because if I have you now, stand back, you're free to go. I've got you now, stand back, you're going to pay for everything, you're free to go. There's always, there's always that. You've got to let the bad guys thrive in order to have story. I have no, I have, I have, I'm not opposed to that whatsoever. I enjoy it. That is true. But I mean, how many times, how many times can you get worried about Parker running away when you know he's just going to be found at the end of the day? This is true. It gets redundant after a while doesn't it? I don't know about that. It's different. It's different every single time. He runs away for a different reason every single time it seems so. So it's fun. It's fun. And plus it, you know, I'm not going to complain because it puts me in scenes with more West. So. What's it like working with her? She's just a, she is, she is, I love her. I love her. There's no, there's no hiding that. We, everyone knows how we feel about each other. It's just, it's, it's been an honor. It really has. It's an honor to work with her. And because, you know, it's, it's, I like to think, and I know that it's a mutual friendship and a mutual admiration that we have for each other. And I just, I, I'm very, it's tough seeing her with other people. I must say I've got this like faux jealousy thing working. That we, you know, it's tough watching her work with other people for me personally because I want to be that person working with her all the time. But I'm also, on the other hand, I am, I am very happy to be working with Julie too. And, and John's, John's a bit of fun. And I miss John Hendley. I miss not being, I miss the guy relationships on the show. Can I just say that? I think. Obviously, the guy relationships, I'm not talking about Luke and Noah. I'm talking about the just the male, the male bonding on the show seems to be like. Oh, man. That's right. Oh, man. I believe, you know, but, but see Holden and Jack used to have that all the time. And, but then Holden slept with Carly. Don't get me started on that. But see, you know, I just, and he never got to punch him. That was the one thing I told, I was talking to Chris Galman. I said, you're gonna, I get to punch it. Jack gets to punch Holden, right? I mean, you got to, you got to be hit for that. I don't care if she was my ex-wife. You got to be punched for sleeping with someone, with your cousin's ex-wife. I mean, Lily almost ran down Carly. That's definitely funny. I don't care about that. I never got the beat. I never got to, you know, give him a beat down. You didn't care about, you didn't care about Carly. He just wanted Jack to, Jack to hit him. Oh, you're right. Right. I wanted to hit Holden. Oh, that is funny. We have a really good time on the show. Look for a while, you saw Jack and Paul working together. And then you see Jack and Dusty for a couple of shows there. It's just little teases that we get to work with other people. Henry is so much, Trent is just so much fun to work with too. Now that guy, I really admire him and his talents. I just think he's a wonderful actor. But you never see us long term trying to figure out a case together. The days of that kind of storytelling I think are few and far between. Absolutely. My cell phone is like going off with text messages all over the place about this interview that we're doing with you right now. I'm not kidding. What's that? Well, first of all, they're making fun of my name. Why is it funny in the name? Now, see, that's not fair because the people who are making fun of your name are jealous. They're faceless people. They're faceless people. They're jealous and they're faceless, I think. That's not fair. That's not fair. They're doing that. And then also, basically, my phone is filling up with everyone asking me, are you going to the fan luncheon this April? I'm going to tell you honestly, I'm going to be on the road. I'm going to be in New Orleans greeting and meeting fans in New Orleans. Cool. This April. My justification for that is fans spend a lot of money and they're asked to spend a lot of money. And I love our fan club presidents. I think they're fantastic. I think they're amazing. They do a lot of work. They do a lot of work in there. Their resolve is ridiculous when it comes to helping the fans out and getting them closer to us and everything and getting us closer to them. I've been there a number of years in a row. It's not the same people. New people come every year and they spend a lot of money to get to New York and stand New York, excuse me, to meet us. And I think that's outstanding. I think it's wonderful. But I think I would like to go, you know, I want to go to a hotbed of fans in New Orleans. I've always wanted to do this. I went down after Katrina and I met some people in some shelters and I've always wanted to go back. And this opportunity arose and I wanted to jump on it so I will be going down to New Orleans to meet fans down there on the same weekend. That is so cool. My wife has never been to New Orleans and it's like I said, if the opportunity just happened to be the same weekend and I apologize for anyone spending the money. But those people who can't spend that kind of money, especially in these economic times, to come up to New York, I really want to go down there. Because I just, I love it down there and the fans are awesome. The fans are awesome everywhere, but in New Orleans, it's just after Katrina hit, they kind of, they really embraced guiding light and as the world turns. You know, that little entertainment, a little bit of entertainment every single day brought them out of just a really terrible situation. One speaking of all the fans, I know that the tech trustees are going to develop. We have some phone calls I heard, so I'm pretty sure you're running the switchboard. Do you want to talk to some of the fans who want to talk to you? I'd love to. Let's bring them all around. Who do we have? That's our first one. I'm going to take a guess here because I believe this is Sean from Pennsylvania. Sean! Or not. Or not. What area code is it? Well, it is the Pennsylvania area code, so it is two-one-five. There we go. Two-one-five, you were on the air. Hello. Hi. Hey, what's going on? Nothing, how are you? I'm fantastic. How are you? What is your name? Jackie. Jackie. Jackie. Sandy. Where are you from, Jackie? I'm right outside of Philadelphia, actually. Oh, great. Sorry about your eagles. Yeah. You don't need that farther than the Giants, so it's okay. No, that's fine. I'm not a Giants fan either. I'm not a Giants fan either. Yeah. I'm a Bill's fan. I'm a Bill's fan. We could talk all day about the Buffalo Bills. Oh, that's cool. I don't mind. Yeah. I can tell you that's fine. One of your Pittsburgh teams are in there. I mean, one of your Pittsburgh teams are in there. I mean, one of your, uh, Pennsylvania. Yeah. From Pittsburgh, so go Steelers. Yeah. That's okay. No way. Oh yeah. What's up, Jackie? What's up, Jackie? What's concerning you? What's bothering you? What's troubling you? Um, actually, there's a couple things. I am a huge Carjack fan. I can't hide it. I love Julie Pinson, though. I've watched her in other shows, so I really like it. Yeah. I mean, she's a fabulous girl. I mean, I love Janet. Like, I really do. I don't think there's anything wrong with Janet. I just don't like her with Jack. You know, I kind of have a bias there, but I just, sorry. I just want some, I guess reassurance that the fans that have stuck with you and Mara for ten years and seen this chemistry, we're not going to be forgotten because we're waiting and we see this interaction and yeah, when you guys fight, there's still sparks. I mean, you and Mara just kind of put you in a room and you can read the phone book and there's spark. That makes me feel really good to say that. I can honestly say, you know, I can honestly say that I do not know when a reunion will happen. I just, I don't, I don't know. First of all, if I did know, I couldn't tell you because I'd be giving away story. Do you understand, Jackie? Secondly, I can honestly tell you, and more and I talk about it every day. Like, we get told a different, we get told a different month, believe it or not, a different month that we're going to be able, we're going to be back together. And months have come and months have gone. Yeah. And with the advent of the Jack and, and, and, what's her name? Janet. With the Jack and Janet. I was going to say Julie, but that's all right. With the Jack and Julie pairing, and this, now this, this Carly and Craig thing, and with Craig acting like the hero, I can honestly, I don't, I don't know. That may be prolonged now. I don't, I'm not really sure. So I wish I could tell you, I really do. Do you feel that that's more because what you said about how your character has changed, that they're kind of rooting because Jack has been so quote unquote mean to Carly recently, that they're just kind of trying to move apart? Jack, you see those, you see those glimpses of the two of them kind of standing down. They're both of their attitudes, the character standing down a little bit and, and showing the glimpses of the fact that they still care and love each other. Right. You, you do see that. So as long as, as long as the, as those little things, those little seeds are planted, every so often, you get everything that has happened between the two of them over the years, it's kind of washed away and there's just that moment. You know, there's just that moment that they hold. And believe me, more and I, we look for those. Even when I get, I get scenes or scripts where I have to, where I have to just berate her, you have to understand that I'm, I'm, it's subtexting so hard. I'm, I'm, I'm saying I love you. Okay. I'm saying I love you. This is what's happening. So, um, yeah, it's tough and you're going to see a lot of, you're going to see a lot of personality changes with, with, with all these characters coming up. So, I hate saying be patient because it's just, it's, you know, it's got a beautiful boy who cries wolf thing. Yeah. Well Jackie, thank you so much for calling in and Bill Pennsylvania all the way so. Thank you. Bye Michael. Bye Jackie. All right. And about who else we have online, then I'm pretty sure that, that our phone line is probably just blowing up. It actually is. Is not, I wonder too, you thought I was going to say, is not. But it actually is seven, Erica seven, two, four. You are on the line right now with Michael Park and BWR. How are you? I'm good. Hey. How are you? This is awesome. My name is another, another Pittsburgh number. I just want to say go with that. Right. Yeah. Pittsburgh's another hotbed. I like it if we could put together like a tour, a fan tour where we go to like New Orleans, Pittsburgh's hot. Pittsburgh is a hot town in Philly. We are. I go down to South, I go down to South Jersey all the time, you know, to Long Beach Island and a lot of Philly fans over there. One of them. Sean, go ahead. I'm sorry. I totally jumped to that. What are you going to say, Sean? What's up? Actually, I'm calling from Ehrmanage, Pennsylvania, which is like an hour and a half outside of Pittsburgh. Cool. Cool. Oh, pretty cool. I'm not going to Michael. Hey, Michael. How are you doing? Fantastic. Sean, how are you? I am doing the best I can. Oh, why? I'm not going to. Well, let's just say the second month times have been really hard. I've been unemployed for two years and right now I'm getting ready to go back to school for career training. I mean, I do aspire to become an actor one day, but it's been that way for 10 years and I haven't been able to really make anything because I'm just not, you know, in the right place to really make something of that and finances have always been a problem over the years. But anyway, enough about that. I want to talk about you. If you want to, yeah, I've been watching you since 1997. I don't know if it was when you first debuted. I just happened to turn on the TV one day. And I actually saw you in a scene with, I think it was Brooke Alexander back then. She was playing Sam. She certainly was. Samantha. Yes, and that's, and I was like, who's this handsome guy? I'm like, I want to tune in. Well, I thought I was going to be paired. I actually thought I was going to be paired. Jack was going to be paired with Sam at one time. Yeah, they would throw me. When I first came on, Sean, they really threw me with just about every single person. And you know, what really would have been odd is if Emily and Jack had taken off. Because then I would be kissing one of my best friends' wives. And my brother. Come on. The mother of my god, the mother of my god child. You know what I mean? So that would have been kind of weird. Yeah, pretty much. Aw, what was I going to say? Well, I do have questions, but I'm not quite ready to ask. No, go for it. Ask any kind of question you want. Okay. Well, first one is, I've always been curious. What does the Carly always calls Jack G-man? Do you know what it means? A government man, I believe, it's a common term used for someone who is a federal agent who works for the government. That's what I was wondering. Yep. B.I. but I wasn't totally sure. Okay, second question. I'm just wondering what you do to stay in such good shape. Because for a man who's going to be 40 really soon, you still look right. Well, I am 40, believe it or not. Oh, okay. I wasn't sure. You know what? You know what? I just got back to the gym as a matter of fact. You know, my kids, my son is very active in sports. My daughter just loves to go to the gym. We've got this great facility in Rockland County. It's called Vision Fitness. And they've got a kid's workout room with two trainers. Now you don't have to pay extra for the trainers. The trainers are there. The kids go, they do a little circuit training. They, they, we fit right there. Connected to, you know, televisions. They've got all these wonderful facilities for kids. And they're being, you know, supervised by a trainer. And my son, we just, we just recently found this place. And so I love going. They've got a little movie theater room where you, you know, you get on a treadmill and you run for like an hour and, and you watch the movie at the same time. So it's, it's a really remarkable place. But, you know, up until then I play a lot of, you know, I play a lot of golf. I've always run. I've, I've always run. So. Yeah. That's actually hard for me because I'm an asthma sufferer. So it's a little hard for me. Well then you got to get outside and run in the cold air or walk in the cold air. You got to do something, right? Yeah. I'm, I'm playing on doing something like that when they get to spring because it's just better cold. I can't even be outside and better cold for five minutes. And then I start gasping for air. Really? Yeah. Mine, mine is also exercise induced. Oh, but I also wanted to point out I was watching some scenes from 1995 and the actor who played Caleb Snyder looks so much like he was scary. Yeah. You know back in the day when they, when they brought everybody back for like the Christmas shows or the Thanksgiving shows, I always got a lot. I mean, I, I get along with, with, with all of the, you know, the veterans, the past veterans of the show. And so it was just, it's wonderful to see, it used to be wonderful to see them. Every so often. And a lot of people, a lot of people have said that. A lot of people have said that. So thank you. That's a compliment because I think he's a wonderful actor. You're welcome. It's a bad he had to pass away. There was, yeah, it was, it was Michael Morrison. Michael David Morrison. Yeah. Right. That too played him first, right? Right. And then I thought, I thought you were talking about, I thought you were talking about the most, the most, the most recent case. Well, actually I did see a similarity to that one. Especially, I, I, I've seen him in a scene with you when Aaron first came back to Oakdale. And I think that was in 2000, 2001. Right. I thought that's what you're referring to. Well, Michael, Michael Morrison, I've heard that as well. Yeah. It was a, it was a pull, it was a pull side scene by the Snyder Pond with Mara. And I couldn't believe how young Mara looked back then. Actually, you know, with wet hair and I'm like, oh my God. Mara looked so much like Drew Barrymore right there. Mara and Drew, they look a lot alike. No. I thought I was just amazed. Well, thank you very much, Sean. Thank you very much, Sean. Yeah. Thanks, Sean. Go, K, again. (laughter) Well, I want to be safe. Take care, man. I hope to make it to a fan event. Oh, please. Or, or maybe I'll tell, you know, I've got to make it to Pennsylvania. You guys can come see us there. Yeah. Let's hope. No worries, Sean. Are you going to sing on the show anytime soon? I have no idea. I don't know if they do, I don't know if they really do that anymore. I don't, I don't, I have not been told. Of course, I'll be told the week before. So, I would know. And you said about the male-bonding relationships. I also missed that. No. Yeah, it's a little piece of, you know, character history. Yeah. Jack being the sounding board for Holden, like back when Luke was coming out of the story. But, you know, he was giving Holden advice. I was actually hoping Jack would have more scenes, maybe with Luke and Noah. Especially Noah, because he was a Jack's birthday party. I mean, back when he recently, and he didn't even get to have any lines. With that the party. Yeah. Yeah. All right. All right. Well, I'm going to let the next caller come on. I really love. Thank you for talking to me, Michael. No worries. All right. Good luck. Bye. Bye. All right. So, who lost do we have on the line? You're not going to believe it, but it's actually another PA caller. Are you serious? No. No. I'm not kidding. This is, I believe, Jamila, and she's from Pennsylvania. Hi, Michael. Hello there. How are you? I'm feeling good. How are you? Well, I got to meet you actually in June at the baseball game. Oh, I'm standing. I'll plug in. You guys lost. Hey, wait a minute. No. Okay. Wait. Wait. Wait. We won. We actually won. And then we finished up so early that I said, "Hey, do you guys want to play another inning?" Oh, yes. I remember. I remember that. Well, we played another inning. And then they, they take the win, which is not, which is, wasn't true, which isn't right. The Prussian got that wrong. All right. You know. We wanted to get the people there who paid the money. You know, we wanted them to get what they pay for. So we played an inning. Oh, okay. Okay. You know what I love about that? You know what I love about that softball game every year? The commodities, he's a great guy. And so the two of us, maybe it's just great to see the ABC people. Yeah. Every once in a while. It really is just, it's, it's, it's a lot of fun. And, you know, it's, it's nothing competitive. We really don't think about it. But it was fun. I love watching you guys play and, you know, you guys get along. And, you know, it was, it was friendly competition. I could tell. It was, it was great. I love coming out to see all of you guys there. It's like a JP Lavoisier. He kind of takes it too seriously with that. I'm kidding. I'm joking. It's a joke. It's a joke. Well, how are you, Michael? I'm all right. How are you? I'm okay. You know, it's a little chilly. Yeah. It's kind of cold. It was nine degrees today, but I'm all right. You know? It's like 18 degrees here in Philly. Good. And I have had to remember to turn on your interviews. I was watching the inauguration. So I, I'm like, oh, I have to make sure I call in to talk to Michael. Yeah. I'm surprised that only people are actually listening to this because that inauguration had me glued. Yeah. It was, it was, it was, and his speech was really good. I had a question for you. Yeah. So I have to say that I love you and Mara. I mean, I have watched you since you, the first day you came on the show when you snuck into the night of Barb. And you almost got beat up. I think, I think you did. I think you see Jack let Holden beat him up. Absolutely. Jack, let him beat him. Jack, Jack had a broken his arm four different ways. Look him up. He's a, he was a feral agent. This is true. And I love you and John. I totally missed the, the whole Holden and Jack thing. And I do have a little thing to be said. Yeah, there's something to be said for that, you know. Yeah, there is. So definitely, I mean, I love that kind of stuff. I love those kinds of friendships. I mean, they're like lovers. Well, I don't think Jack, I don't think Jack can look and hold in the same way. Again, until he punches him in the face. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. I think he's going to fight for that. I was looking, I was waiting. I was like, if anything, I didn't really like the Holden and Carly's story. But I think it, if anything could come out of this story, that would be good. It's Luke's reaction to Holden. Because, you know, Luke looks up to him. And it's Jack's reaction to Holden. Right. And Jack punching him out. Thank you very much. He was never held accountable for that. Right. I'm glad I have people on my side. Yes. Now you may need to forget my question. All right. Yes. Think about it. Well, I guess I love you and Lara together. And I do like the current storyline with you and Janet as well. I was going to ask you, what for you, one first question, what for you was your favorite Jack story? What have you liked seeing Jack do? Um, I'd have to say, you know, I'd have to say, and I say it a hundred times, it was the, it was the teag, it was the teag storyline. It was, it was a long, it was kind of a drawn out story. It was a wonderful story. And one of those things where Carly gets taken, Jack goes to look for. Jack gets, um, gets, um, uh, tied up with Carly in the, in the, in the cab and everything. And that's when they first realized, yeah, when they first realized that they were, they, that they loved each other, that they, you know, it was more than just a little attraction. It was, uh, it was love. And the subsequent, subsequent scenes after they were found in the, in the hotel, in the hospital room and everything. There's a lot, there's a lot there. And, you know, it was unrequited. They couldn't be together because they were just so vastly different. As, as people. And then they had to, they, they had to give in. And it was that one, one of those wonderful stories and it was, uh, I'll always look back. And that, that will always be my number one story. I, I went up the gradient for it. I, I loved all the stuff back. You know, in the day when it seems like the writers cared more about telling the story. Um, you know, in getting that story told, so it was long drawn out. Well, keep in mind there was no history to be, there was no history to be followed. So we didn't have the, you know, there's a lot, a lot has happened since then. And, um, you know, it's, it's, it's hard. It's hard. If we were to keep with, if we were to, you know, keep up with history every time we told the story that be, I mean, these, these people, half these people would be in jail, including myself, including Jack. You know? We, we got to, we, we, we, I know that, I know that people won't forget, but sometimes they just have to forgive. Oh, well, absolutely. I mean, I'm a writer myself and I know sometimes it's hard to even just look back and remember what was going on 10 years ago. Yeah. You know, in the basis of a story, because sometimes if you do that, you're kind of, you put yourself in a right and you just have to kind of go and tell the story you're trying to tell. So I do understand that. And my other question for you, as since I know you're really close with John Hensley and everything like that. John and Martha and Terry and Mora. Yeah. I mean, you guys all live close together or something, right? Well, yeah, we're all within like 20 minutes of each other's shirt. That's awesome. That's totally awesome. I'm glad that, you know, I like that when actors are that close off screen too. But trick it, Dad, I just want to know, are you going to be doing pure country? If pure country is going to happen, who knows? I mean, like, you know, 17 Broadway shows closed this year. Yeah. There was a big rewrite with the script and I don't, with regards to the script. And I don't really, I keep in touch with the writers and the librettists. And it just, it could, it could, it still could happen. It's still scheduled for the spring of '09. So we'll see. We'll see. It was just a wonderful experience and I love getting back on stage. Because that was, you know, it was kind of my bread and butter for a while. And I just... I love hearing you sing and dance. Oh, thank you. And my final question was about them. What if you had the choice to do a storyline with John again? What would that storyline be? What would you like to see Jack and Holden do? Besides punching Holden out, you know, it's Carly's debacle. I always like it when, I always like it when people are forced to work together for a cause or to find something. Like if, you know, Damien comes back. I'll just use that as an example. Damien comes back, kidnaps Luke again and tries to make him straight. You know what I mean? And so, yeah, Holden and Jack, Holden calls Jack and says, "You gotta help me out." And so they go for like a week and a half investigative kind of tour to find where Luke was taken. That kind of thing. And it's always going to end up in gunshots and it's always going to be Jack who gets hit in the shoulder. You know what I mean? Oh, hello. And Jack is going to be to work the next day because, you know, the shoulder injury only lasts like four hours. Five minutes. Yeah. Jack. Well thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you so much for calling him because like, Jamal is one of our like die-hard CVS callers. Love it. Anytime so it's some CVS, she's definitely on it. We need her. Thank you very much. Thanks Michael. Bye bye. Well actually, Michael, I was wondering, I saw in the first couple of seasons of "In turn" you were very much sort of a mentor to the interns. Is it going to be a fourth season? I have no idea. I haven't been told. I'm sure there will be a fourth season because I think that little, you know, that online reality show really worked out. It really did. Richard Menting is no longer with us unfortunately. I just love that guy. So I mean, I don't know. It'd be wonderful if he could do that still. But I know, I love it. You know, this year was particularly wonderful because there were all actors looking for jobs opposed to students just out of school or, you know, people who were longing to be or who are fans of the show who wanted to be on the show. Do you understand what I mean? Yes, I know all kinds of. You know, these are all kind of seasons and no offense to anybody. But these are all kind of seasoned actors that have had theater jobs and theater backgrounds. So it was, I thought it was a very successful season. Very cool. So I don't know, the answer to your question is, I don't know, I haven't been told. Cool. I'll take that. I'll take that. That's all we got to do, you know? Yeah. Just keep looking out for it. Thanks. And before you leave, my friend. Oh, no more collars? One more. Come on. If you have any more, do you have any more collars out there? Tell me one more. One more? Do you want another one? Let's take another one. Let's take another one. Got time. All right. All right. All right. Who's going to get it? Who's going to get it? Come on. Say something, 207. How about 207? Are you there? Hi. Hi. Did you say 207? I thought it said 307. Sorry. I'm calling in. I'm calling in from Maine. Oh. Yeah. And a huge car jack, Michael Park, more west as the world turns the end for over 20 years. And I just was sitting here at work. And I thought I'd call and say thanks. I look forward every day to watching your show, and especially when Jack is on. Well, I appreciate that. Yeah. It's been a few and far between these days. You know, whenever you introduce a bunch of characters like we have with the new Maddie, and new Lucy, and John Linds from Coming On, you've just got to, you know, you kind of, the story, the story is going to pretty much revolve around them. Yeah. Well, and I'm trying to be patient with that. I've been watching the show a long time. I know. But I have one question. I don't want to hog other people's time. But I just don't know what a pain in the butt, Janet, is to Carly. Ceterize me crazy at the Carly fan. I don't, you know what? It's, I don't, I don't. I don't think Jack, I don't think Jack really does. I think, it's one of those things you women do sometimes. I don't mean to improvise. You guys can be catty to one another. Yeah. And then the husbands are like, what do you mean? No, she was just being nice. No. That's not the truth. She was hitting on you, and I had to tell you that I told her off. Why did you do that in one of those kind of things? Okay. You know what I mean? I really don't, I don't know. Do you see Jack playing that? I kind of feel a little frustrated with Jack to be honest with you. I know, I know. A lot of people do. I don't want to hurt your feelings. Yes, I heard my feelings. Yeah. It's tough. It's tough to watch Jack berate Carly every other day and then apologize for it. Exactly. It's like I show up every two days and tell her what a terrible mother she is. But listen. It's tough. But behind my eyes, you must know. There's just love. A lot of love. I think that's what I would say. Yes. That's what we're hanging on to. The Jack is a really good guy. Well, I think he is a really good guy, I think. And so are you. You're going to see, thank you. You're going to see Parker really test the family in the next couple of months. You're going to see him test and you're going to see characters do stuff that are completely out of character, in my opinion. So you're just going to have to know that a lot of actions in the next couple of months are going to be out of love. Yeah. I hope so. Because I kind of feel like Jack really used to have Carly's back. Since the whole Simon thing, this has just been a lot of anger and kind of doesn't take up for Carly like you used to. Right. So I miss that and Jack. Well, unfortunately, Jack justifies, and I have to justify this as an actor, you've got to justify why you're acting the way you're acting sometimes or all the time. I mean, unfortunately, the thing, her taking off with Simon. That was bad. It's always the easiest justification. Do you understand? It's always the easiest justification because, well, hey, you walked out on your kids. You know how easy that is to say in a fight? And you know what I mean? Oh, I totally know what you mean. Women fight. My wife, she brings up stuff from like years ago that has nothing to do with the argument in hand. And it shuts me up in a hurry. Well, you remember that? I'm the Blobody Blue. Remember that? Yeah. Okay. One other question. Sure. Do you visit the web, the fan boards? You know, I... There are a couple out there with your name on it. I do, and I do, and I don't, unfortunately, I don't write a thing. So I don't write or editorialize anything on the boards. I'll go. No. Do you check them out? Every once in a while, they're a bit... They can be mean-spirited sometimes. I mean, you know, like I said earlier, with the advent of internet, everyone's a critic and nothing's off the record. True. Right. This is true. It's tough, and everyone, you know, opinions are like elbows. Everybody's got one or two. Yeah, that's great. Thanks for taking my call, Michael. You got it. It's great. Well, it's great. Well, it's great. We love Maine, too. And I've been... My theory is that Jack is still here somewhere on a lighthouse, trapped by James Cembec. Yeah, he probably... We don't know what happened. He loved Carly, and now he's going to look for... It's his evil twin you're seeing. It's his evil twin you're seeing on air. That would be a good story. Yeah. As it all times doesn't do evil twins a lot. I think you just gave someone an idea. Yeah. That's why I've been my theory. That's what keeps me loving Jack. Nice. Well, thank you very much. And we all... I really like you in blue. Oh, thank you. Yeah. Thank you. All right. Have a great day. You, too. Bye. Bye-bye. Cool. It's something else. Actually, if you... I picked this up from watching Mara. The way she says Jack's name, it's not just, you know, just one syllable. She kind of just stretches it out a little bit. So that's the little chemistry that you guys have going on. You know, it's just... Well, we've, like I said, it's like working with... She did my platonic life for over a decade, you know? So we just know... We know each other very well. I want to read scripts and it's with her. I kind of know the way it's going to be said before I even get to work. And she is... She's... You know, they broke the mold with her. They really did. Because I don't... You know, she's just... She's a pro. She's a flippin' pro. What can I say? You're her G man. You're her G man. You're her G man. [laughter] I would love that name. She would always call you G man. Always. You know what? They throw it in there a lot. And, you know, we don't want it to be... We don't want it to lose anything. We want it to stay G man. She's only going to use it. Or she... You know, we're only going to use it. Or she's only going to use it when it really calls for it. They write it in a lot. The nicknames and stuff like that. But... You know... Yeah, either indeed Jack and Janet don't have their nicknames for each other. I don't know. Well... You know... You don't want to say everything she makes is their famous recipe. That is true. Everything is their famous regout, the famous menicott, it's their famous lasagna, it's just everything's famous. [laughter] We laugh about Julie and I laugh about that. I thought... You get a famous something, you get G man from Carly. It's a win-win situation. I thought you got a win-win situation. Right. And, of course, they're with Austin Peck, basically calling Carly "Bitch" please, but that's a matter of storage. Oh, did she? He did. He did. He did. Oh, we left on the start. Okay, so we had your co-star on Austin Peck. You have to play as your brother. You know, as we all know. He's my older younger brother. Younger, right? Older younger, yeah. That's right. Oh, yeah. Yes, he's originally... See, that's where... That was the beginning of the... That was the beginning of a thing for me, because you understand the history of Brad and Jack's history? To understand that he can't possibly be younger than me. Because he had a lot of issues with his older brother because his brother took the blame for killing his father. He totally blamed because his mother got... His mother ran over his father, killed his father, killed his, you know, his hero growing up. Jack's hero was his father growing up. And when his father died, he got hit by a car, and it was, you know, Brad was the one who took the blame for it in order to protect my drunk mother, Dolores. Right. Somehow, I'm sure it was probably Carly's fault, you know? Yeah. Yeah. We had a lot of other... But we had also, and I think the question was asked, how do you play your scenes with Mark? And about how did he respond? Bitch, please. That was it. He said... That was the response. So... He said just goes up there and asks with Carly, Bitch, please. Okay. Love. Yeah. I don't know. I'm not going to comment on that. I have no comment on that. I don't know what to say. Dude, we were taking it back. That's an odd answer. Tell us about it, you know? Especially live, you know? Yeah. True. That's true. Well, before you leave, my friend, if you would like the honor of doing a promo for the show, we would love to have you do a promo. Sure. What do you need me to do? Say your name. Hi. This is Michael Peck of Michael Peck. Yeah, yeah. That's nice. That's nice. Hey, you started with the promances. I just continued it. This is Michael Peck. This is Michael Peck from As The World Turns. You are listening to Buzzworthy Radio, or you can improvise that in any way, shape, or form. Okay. I'm probably going to... Hi. This is Michael Peck, Jack Snyder from As The World Turns, and you are listening to Buzzworthy Radio. Sweet. How about that? We love it. Awesome. Michael, it was great having you on. I have to say, it's really an honor to have somebody who had such a rich history with a TV show who still knows his theater roots as an act, you know, a fellow up and coming actor to another actor. I think that's so cool. So thank you. Well, good luck to you. Good luck to you. And, you know, you... My advice to anybody who wants to get into this business is do as much theater as you possibly can. Read, read, read theater. Read it all. Read every play you can possibly get your hands on. And when you get a chance to do it, do it. I don't care if you're in the back row of the ensemble. You've got to do it. You've got to fulfill yourself somehow. And that's how I... You know, that's how I started. That's how I started doing community theater. And so I am a huge advocate of community theater. I think some people out there have the opportunity. If you do have the opportunity, get out there and do it. It's just wonderful. Yeah. And it fulfills you. It fulfills you. It does. It really does nothing like being on stage. So thank you so much for that. Oh, you're very welcome. No, no. Are you still out there? I am still out here. I am still out here. All right. Thank you very much. You guys are wonderful and gracious hosts. I really appreciate it. Awesome. Awesome. And continue to watch. That was a real challenge, you guys. Michael, thank you again for coming on. We'll talk to you later. You got it. Bye-bye. All right. So, when are we on next? I always ask you this question. When can we listen to the listeners get just next? Well, we probably won't be back until after next week because I'm going to be away. Oh, that's right. You are. I totally forgot. You are. I'm going to be away for a week. So, I'm going to be in Florida and Mexico next week. So, when we come back, I'm going to have all the post highlights of what happened on the second boys or so crews. So, until next week, this is Matthew Preston and the Val Jay Lee, Neville, Naval, however you want to call my first name. Thanks so long. We'll be doing a week. And make sure you get the latest buzz with Buzzworthy Radio. Take care, you guys. We love you all. We'll see you guys next week. And keep warm. Bye, everyone. Thanks. Bye. Find out what is to come with the character of Jack....and if there is a slim glimmer of hope we can see a reunion of Jack and Carly!
