Hi, Martin. I just saw your article. Can you send me some information about your work? Well, yes, I could, but I won't, because I know that you are trying to deceive me. Welcome to Sales for Nice People, the daily podcast for ethical entrepreneurs who want to sell more because of their values and without having to send lying, deceitful DMs. This is Martin Steller. I help nice people sell more. We're at Episode 45, and the message I received in my LinkedIn DMs said exactly that I saw your article. Can you send me some information? And at first, I thought, this content marketing thing is working. How nice. And I realized, no, this is somebody who's trying to trick me. This is bait and switch. This is somebody who learned from some guru that if you make it seem like you're interested in hiring somebody, you then get to have a conversation with them, and then you can sell them your stuff. Well, you can, but you can't do that if you're an integrals person with ethics and values, because what you're doing is bait and switch. It's tricking people. It's deceitful. It is lying to people at the first point of contact. Why would you do that? It's the same thing as going to somebody's office and saying, Oh, yeah, I was just in the neighborhood. And I thought I drove by. No, you weren't in the neighborhood. You drove out to that office to knock on the door to have a conversation with that buyer and you're lying at the first point of contact. Are you insane? You don't do that. What we do as ethical entrepreneurs who want to make a difference and who operate with integrity and want to stay true to our values is we have a conversation where we put our cards on the table. We state our intentions. We ask our buyers about their problems right up until the point that the buyer asks you about your solution, and then you present your offer. And then your buyer gets to self select and enroll themselves and say, yes, this is for me. No ethics are harmed when you operate like that. I'm here. I'm in business. I create content every day to remedy this to be the antidote to the gurus out there teaching you that it's OK to tell a little wide lie. No, it's not OK to tell a wide lie. Be upfront, be open, be truthful, stay in harmony and in alignment with your values. And you will get to sell more of your work because of your values, not despite them. Because when you resort to a bait and switch called Outreach DM, you might be selling more, but you will be doing it despite your values. That's wrong. My entire business, my whole career, everything that I do exists to be a remedy and an education ongoing Lee for people such as you who operate with integrity, to be able to grow your business, to sell more, to earn more, to have a bigger impact while staying true to your values. It's not that hard. And in fact, I can teach you every day with a short daily email. If you go to martinstellar.com forward slash nice people, you can sign up there. You get a short, helpful daily email every day, devoid of bait and switch or hype. And you will learn how you too can sell more simply by being truthful with people.
